    Just interviewed yesterday and it went great! I had to try not to laugh when I was in the interview because they asked every question you said they would. I was very comfortable and prepared and I definitely would not have been without watching your video. Thank you!

    I had an iCoach interview today and watched this 2x before going in. It helped a lot thank you. One question that was asked a few times but in different forms was how to recognize a lesson that had rigor, how to support teachers to increase rigor, etc

    I am thrilled to hear this content was helpful for you! It can be tricky to prepare for IC interviews, so I hope this provided some peace of mind going in. That's an interesting question about rigor and makes complete sense for them to ask. I wish you all the best in your pursuit of coaching!!! Thank you for the feedback!

    @@smiling-sleuth Sorry to hear you didn't make it to the next round, but what a wonderful gift to get debriefed! One thing I was told and have hung into is: "Every interview makes you better." I know that's been true for me! And I didn't get my first attempt at a coaching position. When I look back, I'm so grateful. I hope your story is similar in time! And way to put yourself out there! It's not easy to do!

    What are some ways to coach teachers in a grade you’ve never taught?

  • @adoubledoseofdowda7612

    @adoubledoseofdowda7612

    Great question, Vivian! I taught elementary school and now I coach high school teachers. One thing I often say is "good teaching is good teaching no matter the grade level or content area." A lot of coaching is about working with strategies, but I do think you need to familiarize yourself with the curriculum and standards for the lesson you are discussing to be really effective. Ask the teacher for help in that area since you are partners in your work together. If the teacher doesn't yet have that capacity, model how you would unpack the standards and develop a task.
