What was the diameter of the neck of the smaller balloon that you used the 3/4" PVC inside of?

Hey I am just wondering if you could give me any tips on carrying out a weather balloon project and any challenges you have faced as we are carrying a project just like this! It would be greatly appreciated.

hey jason, we have a date to fly a balloon this thursday but we didnt realise how small the helium ballon rigid nosel is - we are contemplaiting attaching and sealing a well a possible using again tie ropes and eletrical tape a more flexible meter rubber tube that we can feed up in to the ballon - but its still maybe 3cm diameter, whilst the neck of the balloon is really big, aprox 15cm diameter, maybe slightly bigger than that broken off one you have in this video - we were just wondering with your experience, if the procedure would be the same of inserting a larger pvc cilinder and holding as tight as possible with maybe 2 pair of hands to help assist. maybe you can give us some insight - would be REALLY APPRECIATED If you read this before hand and we could have a quick chat before this thursday - its really hard to find any help and correct materials here in the uk. thanks man

I will try this in Brazil, in a high school near space program. What about the PVC thickness?

In my Research Weather Balloon Can Blow. Or The GPS is low. but a succesfull launch they can get 1.000 - 2.000 Km.

When the balloon pops, isn't the weight of the pvc pipe going to land on top of the parachute/

I'm confused, what is the pipe for?

How to make the payload waterproof?
