This is THE channel I was looking for !! Just started learning the accordion after playing guitar for 30 years…. Its so much fun but pretty hard, unless I keep playing C, F and G songs. New subscriber and hopefully I can learn more here. You seem like a good teacher 👊🏻 greetz from the Netherlands

Congratulations 🎉 let me know if you have any questions. Take it slowly. C F and G are great chords ☺️ Ronen@accordionlove.com

As a beginner accordionist, I have a good tip for other beginners who are having trouble with the left hand (which is pretty much all of us 😂): practice in front of a mirror! I'm already a pianist, so my right hand doesn't struggle nearly as much. But I'm having a terrible time learning the muscle memory of the angles of the columns. It gets worse the more the bellows are expanded, because all the buttons are tilted with it. For example, I will have the D bass note anchored down with my 4th finger; but instead of D7, my 2nd finger meanders up to A minor. But with a mirror in front of me, I can find the note and establish correct muscle memory more quickly! This mirror trick does the opposite for the right hand due to the symmetry of the keys. You'll go to what appears to be a C but it's really an E, or you go to what appears to be an F but it's really a B. So glance over the keyboard for those 😉

All of this is excellent, however, I believe I'll forego the part where I ride my bicycle while playing the accordion. At 71, it seems a bit risky to me without the training wheels. Ha!
