This gotta be the best powerslide tutorial vid on here. Someone whos actually hitting a hill/at speed, doing full front and backside slides for a good amount of time. All in a vid under 5 minutes with quality examples. A+ bro.

Thanks for this! I’ve never been able to properly power slide, and I now realize why. I would always force my weight into the board instead of feathering my weight upwards like you just suggested. Totally counterintuitive, less muscle more finesse.

Have you ever tried the DKL griptape that won’t tear your shoes? If you have, you liked it? And if not, would you make a video about that?

I have tried it once on some one else’s board. Valid idea, but it looked like with time it becomes too smooth of a surface to trust it long term, or for advanced street skating. If you are just learning skateboarding, and/or the parents aren’t to keen on helping you replace shoes every month. I see the value in it.

I wish i could powerslide but i need to get harder wheels first. It kinda shocks me to know ill be wearing down the wheels but they cost way less compared to other skatboard parts. powerslides look like so much fun and its a cool/effective way to do sudden stops/speed control.

You got it! They are very fun, its a good additional way to enjoy skating. Buy any wheels 99-101 duro for the most trust.

@@liam_dawson thank you for the hardness scale numbers!!! think ill go with that lowest one since im so use to softer wheels.

Most spitfire wheels with the recommended duro will last you MONTHS with no flat spots even if you’re power sliding all day every day. I skate to & from work (downhill on the way to work) almost every day & I’ve only used two packs of spitfire wheels this past year. Try to get a bigger wheel size (not so big you get wheelbite). I recommend 58mm if you can fit them, if not then 56mm & so on. After a handful of months you’ll have some nice 55-53 mm wheels under your board & you can replace whenever you feel they’re too small. Only problem I’ve had in the past was my toeside wheels wore down a lot faster than my heel slide wheels & it made my board lopsided lol. I avoided that by swapping wheels around every now and then.
