You are correct doing the back first. The reason is picture framing. If you do front firth them back you will get picture framing 98% of the time if you look at it closely and of course some colors you will notice more then others. Green Mountain Media Blasting & Powder Coating

Exactly--also helps get Faraday areas on the front side, surprisingly. I do angled passes from the back to hit front-facing areas sometimes.

One thing I do when I'm whiping wheels like this is hang it with a adjustable tie down around the wheel after I spray the second coat on so I can spin the wheel while its hanging that way the powder always falls away from the wheel when wiping it off and I can get a straight line

Hopefully this makes sense so here it is. I had someone who wanted chrome wheels done and I’ve never done chrome before. I know if chrome is good you can etch and powder over. Well if chrome has good and bad spots I asked both you and 710 and was told stay away from chrome or charge more because it’s a pain to try getting off. Well I’ve been watching lots of videos and is there a way like a magnet or something so I know if it’s chrome I’m looking at or polished aluminum or something else polished? Is there some kind of test I can do? I’m afraid of taking on a chrome job thinking it’s polished aluminum or vis versa? Any advice?

Hi like your vid's :) One thing I'd like to ask is: my tyre guy says that if you coat the face that's on the inside of the tyre it then can flake off over time with tyre on. With the high speed rotation of the wheel on the road causes the flakes to wedge themselves under the tyre lip between the tyre and the wheel and cause slow air leaks. I notice you seem to coat this part of the wheel every time do you have a reason for that? Hobbyist powder coater mainly for brake calipers for Toyota MR2 /MR-S (US) - I about to give my own wheels ago for the first time :) Many Blessings, Simon, The Padre

Awsome channel dude 👊 We have a gema gun that looks just like yours but ours has controls on the gun!! Just wondering if you could give us some advice What psi is going to your gun?? We have around 40 psi as anything less doesn't allow powder out What settings do you use on: 1. Flat colours like mirror black 2. Metallics like sparkle silver 3. Do you use acrylic laquer or polyester, if so what settings do you use?? Thanks

From my experience you should coat gloss finishes somewhat thicker, around 90 microns, your looks like at around 60. Trust me,do a test and coat 2 seperate things on the way you do now,and coat it at around 30-40% thicker and see the difference. Let me know what do you think. In my opinion it just looks so much better.
