how to pose parents with a newborn
Lots of times we wonder how in the world to pose a newborn baby in the parents arms?
Usually parents have no idea and if you want to get perfect posing you must know what to tell the parents to do.
More than posing si also the safety of the baby. you need to have at least 3 points of contact...by that l mean the parents hands but also their chest. sometimes you have to cut short the perfection and go for connection and more than that safety.
If you can't post a baby in the parents hands safe then a better way will be to pose them on the bean bag and make the parents lean over the baby and kiss him.
Safety is very important in every step of the way with the newborns.
For this session used my canon 5d mark iii with a 24 to 70 mm canon lense. back-light with einstein strobe.
I didn't use a elsecond light but if you find it difficult to focus you can add an extra light on the side of the parents or the setup.

Beautiful work. With your backlit photos, do you use a fill? Especially when they are facing towards the camera.

No I don't I do increase my iso a tad max 640
This was super useful! Im just learning newborn photography and I have an outfoor family shoot with a newborn tonight, gonna try some of these poses!!! Also, thats just a regular bed sheet as a backdrop, right?

I use only one light..a 86 plm umbrella. But I do have moments when I want to bring a second light to fill some of the dad shadows
