    Fantastic video tutorials. You stick with the subject and get the job done as well as include all necessary and alternative steps. So many tutorials out there for a variety of subject focus too much on the 'glitzy look at me more than the process' ....so annoying when you are trying to learn something. Thank you for your professionalism! I will be ordering your high quality products so my first attempts can be amazing! Thank you again! Sharlene from SYS

    I just want to say I bought that polish, and it totally had the opposite effect of shining my resin pieces- it left a dull cloudy finish that essentially seems to have ruined my jewelry. It looks awful; I don't know why- it's the exac same one recommended here. it didn't work for me, so I thought I should warn others of that.

    Hi Brandi, I'm not sure if you've solved this already, polishing requires a great deal of pressure so be sure you're really putting your weight behind it, if that doesn't work you can try the second technique featured in this video of brushing on a thin topcoat to shine your pieces right up again. Thanks for your patience, I hope you're having fun :)

    Question for anyone that has used this method: I am looking to sell my jewellery, will the shine last, or will buyers have to polish regularly to keep it shiny?

  • @LittleWindowsResin

    @LittleWindowsResin

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hello JumpinJacks! In this tutorial I'm working with pieces that were either cast in non-shiny molds, or which have gotten scratched up over time. Once polished/recoated, the shine should last unless your customer damages the piece in some way. The shine does not rub off, but anything made with resin is vulnerable to scratching, and can also develop a dull surface if harsh chemicals such as perfume, self-tanners, etc, get on the piece and are not cleaned off right away. They can be cleaned with warm water and dish soap, with fingers or a soft piece of wet material if needed. I hope that helps :) fran@little-windows.com

    Ooh, no, that means the resin wasn't blended well, or the ratios were off, if you try to polish it it'll just get ickier. I'd go with the second technique in this video to seal the sticky part in. Best wishes, Fran

    Does anyone know if this will help make super glue shiny? I had some little cracks in some pieces that I filled in with gorilla super glue (approved for resin) and now it’s super dull in those spots. I wouldn’t mind if it was just the back but it’s on see-through pieces so I can’t really hide it

  • @LittleWindowsResin

    @LittleWindowsResin

    Hello! Not sure if you've solved this already. It won't help to polish the super glue, but adding a thin coat of clear resin on top will minimize its appearance. If you'd like to send me a photo I'll be happy to advise with specifics once I can see what you're working with, there may be another solution. Thanks :) fran@little-windows.com

    Hello Phoebe, sorry for the delay. IS your bangle black gloss or white gloss or another color? I believe you'd have luck with them all, but the black glossy finish is more likely to still show marks. Have you tried this already? feel free to email me fran@little-windows.com

    Hi LittleWindowsResin! I was wondering if the Flitz polish had been tried on polymer clay pieces to polish them in conjunction with sanding. I am looking for a safe polish to get my polymer clay pieces shiny. Thanks so much for your excellent videos! I learn so much about resin from you and your products are great! ❤

    Hello Michelle! I just did a test to see how it would work, and while it does give the polymer clay a bit more luster, it also rubs some of the color/clay off on the polishing cloth, so I'm not sure this is the best option. If you email me at fran@little-windows.com, I'll be happy to send you photos of my results so you can see how it worked. Maybe more extensive testing by a better polymer artist is called for. Have you tried coating your polymer pieces with a thin layer of resin?

    So are only certain resins able to do the technique you did at the end, with brushing it on a piece? I ask because I tried this with a resin I got from michaels and the resin would reseed from the edges or bead up when brushed onto another resin piece. And these were flat pieces to boot @_@

    Hello! Yes, each resin type/formula has different properties, one may be perfect for casting but not work well in thin layers, etc. Our Brilliant Resin is quite versatile, so it's great for casting, doming, layering, and 1-coat varnishing too. If you'd like to send me a photo or two of your project so I can see just what happened, I may be able to provide more detailed insight. You can email fran@little-windows.com Thanks for asking :)
