Polishing english wheel anvils and main wheel from time to time becomes necessary. If you buy an english wheel and the wheels have flaws in them you may have the need to get them trued and polished sooner than later. By watching these two videos you will see several different ways of getting the anvils smooth before going to the polishing wheel.

Great lesson for me, thanks. I’ve been avoiding to polish my wheels because I thought I needed a lathe. The exact same thing happened to me when I was using carb cleaner that you spray in while running the engine years ago, rust was on everything that was shiny.

Hi Jere. I hope you have been well. Great to see this being done. I have hopes to soon be building/rebuilding/fixing some of the tools I have or want and this is quite timely. Muriatic acid seems to be pure evil. I won't consider opening a container of it inside a building. I've heard too many horror stories. I like your design for the mandrel and it's dual usage. I don't own a lathe (but can get access to one) so any tool that helps me work around not having one is nice. Happy de-muriatic acid-ing those anvils.. and anything else in the shop that got attacked by the liquid monster. Joe

Hi Joe: All is well here. I hope you and yours stay well. I have been quite busy getting the East pasture straightened out and getting ready for pouring concrete. A single purpose tool doesn't have to be used singularly. Stay safe. Jere

@@jerekirkpatrick2092 "A single purpose tool doesn't have to be used singularly". ooooo that's deep. Yes, it sounds like you have been busy. I find it very easy to be busy. Being unbusy is the hard part. Now.. to watch part 2

Thank you for making a well produced video Jerry. What RPM on the lathe do you think is best? I highly recommend to anyone to purchase Jere's plans for the radius turner and the bead roller modifications. I have done both and they turned out well. Thankyou for sharing your expertise.

Wonderful video Jere, what grit sanding sponge do you use on the lathe?

Hi Andre: I get the sanding sponge's from Harbor Freight. I use ones that have been used quite a bit so they are not too aggressive. Jere

Hi Joseph: I just spray them down with WD-40. Something that can be easily removed when I want to use them. Thanks for watching. Jere
