If you're talking about dev traits, they won't get those unless you import the roster into a franchise and set it up yourself. Unfortunately, Madden doesn't allow you to change the dev trait when creating new players

I think you can import the roster but also choose to start the season week 18. That way it shouldn’t have the rookies play yet but idk

Make sure you use the current roster when you start your franchise
