I lost my son in 2017 at the age of 15, he was a musical genius, at 15 he was on stage playing jams from Led Zepellin, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Hendrix, and so many others and was making his own music in his room, I was amazed at his talent. Today 12/28/2020 I picked up one of his old traveler acoustic Yamaha Jrs for the first time and got on KZread and found you! I love this song it hits home. I never thought I could learn how to play it. I'm currently learning how to play it thanks to you, and for that I'm so grateful. This is how I will keep my son's memory alive and will always maintain that connection with my boy. I wish you were here son!

Charlie, I too lost my son. He took his own life during a difficult breakup. He was not a musician but he loved music. When I play Foreigner or Floyd music he is with me digging it. Keep that connection Charlie , keep playing the songs he loved! And thank you Marty! U are an excellent axe teacher!

Motivation is what makes marty unique, He'll push you to believe in yourself, thats what makes him one of the most successful teachers. I owe this to him. He taught me alot. Still.

I bought an acoustic guitar a couple of months ago because I really wanted to learn Dust in the Wind properly. That's the first video I saw of him and I'm really enjoying falling in love with guitar again. (I play electric as well, I just didn't have an acoustic)
This was my dad’s favorite song. He’s been gone 4 years. He would be so proud to hear me play it. Thanks for the lesson.
This is the first song you ever taught me Marty. Thank you. When life beats me like Joe Pesci with an aluminium bat, I wrap my arms around my guitar and play till things don't hurt so much. I can't afford therapy but, as long as I have my guitar, I'll have a place to heal.

Gotta say it...at 57 I am an intermediate (at best) guitar noodler like many out there. I'm not looking to exactly replicate what these axe-masters perform, I just want to be able to play the songs around the proverbial campfire and sound decent. I have dabbled into many tutorial pages on KZread and you, sir, are by far the most understandable and easiest to follow. You teach a perfect medium between being too simplified and overly intricate. Kudos, and thank you a million times over!
Marty Schwartz, you are absolutely the very best guitar guru instructor on the Internet. You simplify and break down. the most complex and difficult guitar arrangements. Into a "can do" practical format. I am playing unbelievable guitar because of you. You are helping so many people. By helping us to fulfill our passion in playing guitar. Thanks a million.....

I am no longer sure at this point anyone can call themselves self-taught when Marty makes these precious lessons one click away. Marty, you are a legend. Thank you.
I wanna learn this whole song so I can play it for my grandpa, who has passed away unfortunately, I wanna play it for him to say how I wish he was here.
I turned 45 1.5 weeks ago and got a new electric. I'm learning this on my 7th day of guitar.... it's one of my favorite songs!
First song I ever learned to play, and later sing/play simultaneously. It changed my life.
I'm 39 and have always wanted to play this song. It's taken a week of repartition and work but i've got it. I need to work on my slides but i'm happy that i can at least play it slowly. You don't know what it means Marty, so thank you mate.
i had a guitar teacher he always gave me the most boring songs to learn on acoustic , he wasn't great. Then i left that teacher and found Marty Schwartz , and man you changed my life , you are the reason i play these songs and im in love with these songs , now im plannin to buy an electric guitar!!! Thank you Marty , you are my best teacher I've never met!!!

I would say you teacher is doing the right things..Actually he is teaching you the backbone to build the other songs easily with those boring songs. Even in piano true stuffs are most of the time boring. Some can’t come over boring stuff but some does, so they become great musicians
Going through a rough patch lately so I decided to pick up the guitar about 5 months ago. Not knowing how to play a single chord I come to YT and find Martymusic. After going through the chord lessons to learning my first song “Knockin on heavens door” I’m now finally able to play this. When I first started and learnt the easy part I thought wow can’t wait to learn the rest, clicked on this and got intimidated and quickly clicked away😂 But after learning many songs and techniques all thanks to the great Marty music I came back to try my luck and when I finally got it I may have let a few tears of joy come out. Thank you very much Marty, I’ve always wanted to play guitar and to be able to play so many songs I love is a privilege. Much love ❤️
Hands down the best guitar teacher on the internet. Thanks Marty for all that you do 👏🏽
Your video helped my tremendously. I picked up the guitar for the first time the other day and now I can play this song almost perfectly. Truly inspirational.
the fact that i’d never picked up a guitar before and now, after 4 days, i can play the first half of the video is just amazing to me. i never thought that someone could make it so easy. thank you so much, you’re amazing
Perfect timing and pace, you always reprise just at the best moment, you always introduce a new brief element to draw the learner on at the right stage. Really an excellent teacher thanks! And its fun!

Hey man thank you very much for teaching our derams, cause I've always wanted to be able to play this kind of classics and you made it come true
Right before 12:00 when you very slowly play through it all, that is PERFECT for helping us put it all together and burn it in for good! Thank you so much for practicing that kind of patience.
After struggling all week to even get to the end of the video, your "thanks for hanging out with me" makes getting here that much better. Its given me the will to keep going. Thanks Marty!
Marty your understanding of how to teach and construct knowledge in a learner is phenomenal. Piaget would blush.
Hey Marty! Welcome back can't tell you how glad I am that you are giving lesson's again. I love this lesson b/c you can play the song and also add a solo, just makes the song more complete and goes beyond "camp fire". Would love for you to do this for more of your more popular songs (add a solo lesson). Thanks again for what you do!!!!
Big Love Marty 👊. This lesson got me past some stumbling blocks and maybe even some confidence questions.. thank you for what you do. 🙏
Over quarantine I am chugging my way through this song, I've learnt 3 quarters and I'm on the last leg now just trying to get all the tricky bends fluidly. Its really hard but I would never have been able to do it without this video.
Im pretty young and always heard this song play when i was younger , never thought id be able to play one of my favorite songs on my guitar with barely a month of experience. Thanks marty 🙏
Marty, you rock man! You’re videos are very well put together and easy to follow, and they have helped me a ton! Thank you, keep up the great work!
I’ve went from a beginner giving up guitar to mastering this solo, thanks to you Marty 🙏
Marty you have changed my entire life and you have no idea. You truly are someone I enjoy being in the presence of, feels like you're teaching me individually.
Thank you Marty for all of your guitar lessons. I bought my first acoustic from a Montgomery Ward’s in 1968. Although I learned basic chords, until recently, when I purchased my teen son a beginning electric guitar, I wasn’t afforded the luxury of time to sit down, relax, and play to challenge myself. Your educational videos have allowed he and I to spend brief, but fun times sitting together and learning.
You now actually have me happily playing stuff I'd have NEVER listened to back in the day... ya freakin' evil genius! As usual, all the very best my friend!

2 boys out of high school, my daughter just a few more years, after 20+ years getting time back for myself, used you to learn songs when kids were young vto soothe them, now all these years later im back learning: how to weld, read hieroglyphics and play songs that i want to learn. Your one of the trifecta of teachers that make me yearn for retirement when i can do my passions all day... thank you Marty "Music"
Marty, thanks a zillion - no, make that a squillion - for making this channel. I’m a 54yr old beginner, and so far can play Blackbird, Rocketman, and this (almost - slowly will do for now), thanks to you. Great teaching skills Marty - I can’t help saying “let’s break this down and zoom in” at every opportunity! 😆
Спасибо! Отличный разбор. Не пришлось перематывать, все по несколько раз повторяется и достаточно медленно и понятно - это очень круто!
Marty, I'm now 57 and been noodling around for years and about a year ago I've been getting serious. You are by far one of the easiest guys to follow. Your style of teaching along with your easy going personality makes it possible to watch your videos over and over until I get it. When I'm looking to get after a new song and you are available. I will always go to you first. Thanks so much for your time and effort. You are definitely someone I would like to know in real life. Have a Nice Day.......Chucke.
Dude even as a lefty it was super easy to follow along. I learned the solo in about 2 hrs of practice. Thank you for posting this. Love the Floyd and now I can play it!
Im finally able to play a good bit of this. Ive been playing for 7 months now and really wish my adhd would have allowed me to focus and learn alot earlier. I love rythem, lead, bass. I just love being able.
Marty! I love this. I really like how you go slow so people like me can follow. So many people go too fast and don't explain well enough. I'm going to keep following you. I recently started playing again after I retired a few years ago. We were packing to move and my lovely wife asked me to rid myself of my 2 guitars.... I never played my Fender Strat '94 made in America and my Yamaha FG. Well I told her I might start again and I did. Sore fingers all of the time, but I'm working on it. thanks again.. Signed on my way back...
Marty, I've watched so many KZreadrs teaching songs and your explanations are by far the clearest to follow.
