Great lesson for chip, thanks a lot.
Hi Michele and Dianne. It is great to listen to your strategy and advice. And this year, i had been able to play better on most of the Par 5s because i played them as a 3 shot hole and lay up to 100 to 120 yds for my 3rd shot. So my par is a lot easier and i even got more birdies using this strategy since get to hit my 3rd shot from the fairways instead of the roughs or bunkers 😁. Thanks again for sharing your great clip and a beautiful view of the course!🤗👌👍👍👏👏👏

Another great video. That hole illustrates how course designers place hazards based on how golfers of differing skill levels miss with the closest one on the right to snag the chronic slices that are the nemesis of the newbie with one on the left 20 - 40 yards further way to snag the ball of the pros like you who have the chops to laugh in the face of the designer and start the ball at the hazard on the right with a Draw but over cook it and turn it into a Hook that winds up in that left bunker. The ability to shape shots like that both off the tee and on the final approach shot on a par 5 is what raises the game to a new strategic battle of wits like Chess where most matches are usually played to a Draw (par) and it takes Birdie or better to defeat the defenses of the designer and “capture the flag on his castle” by removing it and putting your ball in the hole that was holding it. 😄. I’d love to see you two do a follow-up video on the same hole in which you start in the fairway and try to reach and hold the green of a par 5 in two shots (i.e. trying for Eagle) with your longest irons and fairway clubs trying different shot shapes as dictated by green dimensions and pin placement. For example, hitting a high fade approach shot seems the logical choice but I’ve found that the ability to hit a hard high draw with a 3-iron with a lot of spin better for holding the green because of the way Fades tend to check then release (off the green into trouble) but a Draw will check, one hop and stop or kick hard and to the to left keeping it on the short grass rolling towards hole. What would also be instructive are holes you’ve found where the highest odds for par on a hole where the green is heavily protected is to lay-up short of the green then hitting a lob shot over the hazards, comparing strategies and success of going for the green in regulation vs. playing more conservatively to thwart the designer’s evil intentions - they are all Sadists aren’t they? 😂

handicap Golfers, we're addicted to compounding our mistakes'. 3rd shot, she had an Up-hill / hanging lie. Prolly could have used one more club. Michele had a Trick lie too; her feet were up-hill the ball (after the strike) show'd to be a flat'er (level) lie. Once again !! Great Golf'vlog. wonderful advice and instructions. This just solidifies my opinion; The importance of a quality tee shot brings Birdie / par into sight. Michele made a great point; if your tee shot isn't a good lie...Don't try and make up the mistake... The Pro Golferette made one mistake; her 3rd shot was the wrong club...or caught it chunky

I like Dianne. I hope she comes back more often. She has good comments.
I really liked Diane's decision to use 8 iron for her 4th shot since she had so much green to use? It did sound and look like she chucked the shot like I might have done? Still I would be very happy with a BOGEY.
Very nice for u Michelle

Never heard of giving away the hole. Does it mean it is better to putt to the centre of the whole then? I notice that you aimed left center, so by definition you did NOT give away the hole correct? This would help me if you could explain please. Thank you.
@michelelowgolf7501

Yes, it means don’t aim outside of the hole :)
One might say that tee to pin is about 50 yards too long as we would like to birdie a par 5 occasionally.
