    1. Always be scanning the field. 2. Positioning when receiving a pass. 3. Switch the point of attack. 4. Look for pockets of space in the field. 5. Don’t pick up the ball too early and don’t telegraph your throws.

Forgot to mention in the video but you also need to be giving some direction to whoever you pass the ball to. As in letting them know if they have time and can turn the ball, if they are under pressure or where you want them to play the ball after receiving it.

Love your vids. Don't play GK (except once after a red card and I let in four haha) but I play DM or sometimes CB in a back 3. Your videos really help me know what my keeper wants to be doing, what they want me to be doing and how I can best play to form a good defensive unit with them. Also plenty of entertainment on your channel. I'm a big fan, thank you.

Great breakdown. I'll be sharing this with some goalkeepers that are struggling to understand some of the tactics to being an option and where to be while their defense is possessing the ball.

Hey you probably hear this a lot but where I'm from in ontario, there's a growing semi-pro team named Electric City Fc that's still only two years old that plays in League One Ontario and hosts tryouts to decide the team. Not sure when they are but if you ever wanted to come to Canada it would be a great stepping stone league!

Hi gk goluremi, Ive been watching your videos for a while now and I was wondering if you could lend me some advice. I currently play on a ecnl rl U16 team and Varsity high school while getting full playing time. I feel like my club team isnt challenging enough for me and the training I recieve there isnt at the level I feel I can train at like with a example MLS next team. I trained with a local mls next team near me and the enviornment was more challenging and what my opinion that I should be playing at but I wouldnt be able to play highschool and would only play half of the game with the team, not full time. I was wondering if you think it would be better to stay at my current team and play highschool where i get full minutes but I feel like I could be challenged more, or make the switch to a higher level mls next team near me that would improve the training enviornment aswell as level of play but I would only play 1/2 of the game? thank you for reading love the channel

What do u have to say to those gks that tend to stay up near the CBs playing modern goalkeeping? Cuz I think yours is similar excluding the part staying at the back of your box rather than staying up at your box

Wait a second? You're allowed to receive the ball and roll it with your feet and then pick it up? And the ref won't call a foul? Man, I'm so relieved to realize that! I mean, that's of course if it is coming from the opposition.

@@thelonelymaus Right? If the defender is deliberately passing the ball back to the keeper, then the keeper won't be able to pick it up. That's what I am thinking.
