@@E7MusicSchool I have wanted to play drums as long as I can remember. At school the band director shot my dreams down and made me play a trombone instead. At least I learned how to read music notation. I love playing drums and I am definitely planning on getting with you for lessons to help my stick control. I can play most rudiments but not fast assuming control is my lack

First, great lesson! Love it that you are thoughtful enough to take your time and put this out there for other drummers. You did wonderfully breaking it all down. I really appreciate that you took the time to do that. Now, I must comment about your cymbals. My sweet husband got me a very nice 6-piece drum kit for my birthday. I haven't played in so long that I forgot some stuff. I am actually surprised that I retained a lot of information from back in the day. Some stuff I'm needing a refresher on. I chose this particular song as one of our starter pieces. He loves playing rock on the electric guitar and thought it'd be awesome if we could play together and I'm having a lot of fun remembering, but each time you hit a new cymbal, I get sad. I have a boom, a crash and a high hat. You come on full pro with a wide range of cymbals, when I'm over here, trying to make my limbs go in different directions and once I've got it down, you throw in another cymbal. That's okay, though. I will make it all work somehow...some way. Keep up the awesome work and thanks for putting this video out there.
@E7MusicSchool

thanks for the input!... thats so great that you have a set! As for me hitting different cymbals, you can simply hit your one crash and that will be sufficient. As for brushing up on your skills, I'd LOVE to do a free lesson for you! If you want 1 free lesson, simply sign up for it on my site **the link is available on any of my videos** and schedule a time. Oh MAN! THANK YOU!! I am knocking on 65 and, on a whim, will be jamming with a gigging band that is looking for a drummer. Pretty much all their set list is stuff outside my experience. So far I am able to play about three numbers from their set list. This song is there too but they will send me packing with what I am doing to this song. I could not figure out where those upbeat crashes came in or how to count it out. You answered a ton of questions with this video.. at least now I 'understand' what is going on. You have put it all back on me - it is now up to me to work on what you are teaching. liked and Subscribed :-)
