In this video drum lesson, we teach you how to play Metallica's "Sad But True" on your drum set by breaking it down so it is easy to understand.

"Sad But True" Drum Lesson Breakdown - Time Stamps Included
0:36 - We begin to play along with the song and include a view of the foot pedal bass drum
1:00 - We breakdown this intro drumming part into it's parts
2:12 - Put it together up until this point w/ music
2:25 - The tom section has a pattern to it and we break it down
3:26 - We break down the 2nd set drum section
4:02 - Breakdown of the drum fill
5:10 - Note: to play the snare drum fill correctly, counting beats will be important so you start playing again on time and on beat
5:56 - Bring it all together w/ music

Maybe be lives in an apartment, his lab coat was too tight, crashes scare his dog, he was on his last pair of sticks and they’re already cracked, his cymbal stands were loose, he just put a cake in the oven........or his wife told him too!

I don't know why but I can't hit the bass drum and the high hat at the same time. Every time I do I hit the hi hat as fast as the bass drum when I'm playing a song. Someone help me

You should cover the difficult parts of the song, you just covered the intro which is pretty simple to figure out by active listening

But to truly learn the best, is to work with me in learning it all... a video cannot tell you mistakes you're making, or how to correct them. I have to say it; you really look like post malone.
Try not to let your Flams be that flat. in other words try and separate the ghost note from the accent note because otherwise you'll look like your playing a double stop and not a flam
