This is the best video explaining detached, legato and staccato, I found until now. And more important how to play it with hand shapes.

Please I want to learn the whole sight reading
I call staccato the "funky attack" since I've heard many funky keyboard pieces utilizing Staccato

Excellent lecture!!😄 Thanks to your lesson, I can understand how to play detached, legato, and staccato.👍👍👍
Thank you for this video!
Thank you for your explanations. They are very clear and helpful.
That's a good one.
Good Teaching
Thanks for the explanation. Maybe you could suggest some (easy) pieces for practising any of those techniques, either together or not. Maybe "Dozen A Day" as starting point?
awesome!!
Thank you for this great lesson! Off topic: have you ever been told that your hands are simply beautiful? They really are, and I couldn't help telling you this.

Thanks alot!! Most songs are written in legato, right? Even if there is no such long line?
How do quever and chrotchet staccato sounds different when placed together in the same bar??

I think they sound the same just the timing of when to play the note would be different based on your counting 1 and 2 and etc etc
Thank you. Great lesson. Do you have a video on tenuto and portato?

What tip do you suggest to play a staccato (p) soft in piece when the melody is (mf)
My teachers are Russian music conservatory teachers, but the way they teach me staccato is somewhat different. They teach it like a quick impulse from the wrist as if you are flicking a bug off your wrist. So its wrist quick fire up and fingers drive down. Its in contrast to the way many teacher a more bouncy wrist movement. TBH I find their way quite unnatural and awkward! However they are concert pianists so who am I to argue?!

Underrated
I guess if u pay attention to your display of keyboard. In legato u will find two pressed notes moving because of this lil overlapping time. But in stacato u will just a single pressed note moving across. In detached u will see a gap in display of a note and next note. I mean even if u deaf u can be sure u playing right or not this way! 🤪 🤭😁
What is the difference between detached and non legato?

Please I would love to the whole sight reading
I think you are doing a disservice when you equate detached with a non-phrased/slurred passage. Most of the time, the default is legato unless otherwise notated. A detached section is often denoted by mezzo staccato. Everything else is legato with few exceptions (like sometimes Baroque).

You're bringing your fingers up way too high. This is wasted movement, time, and energy.
