    Worth noting that, if you begin your turn with more than 12 Lantern Cards, you can make a dedication if that gets you back down below the limit, rather than simply discarding.

    This is different from other videos of yours. Here you go much more in detail, one could really skip the rules as you say in the description. Nice simple tile laying game, by the way!

    Thank you for a very simple, thorough, and clear explanation. I love board games. You should teach how to play splendor because i don't find other KZread channels teaching how to play splendor to be very clear.

    On 7:30 you should have gotten a total of 3 favor tokens right? 2 for the purple match (since there are 2 platforms) and 1 for the blue match (since there are 1 platform)

    What if you place a lake tile with a platform on it touching three other lake tiles without platforms and all three sides are color matches. Do you receive three tokens, one for each color match? Or just one token?

    Quick question, something that I couldnt find clarified here or in the rulebook: Does the center tile with the boat count as a platform if a color match with another platform tile is done to it (thus granting that player 2 favor tokens)?

  • @TheGameBoyGeeks

    The center start tile is not a platform for getting favor tokens. I know it's in the rules somewhere but I don't remember exactly where.

    Ah yes, you're right, despite reading through the rulebook like 4 times over, I somehow kept glancing over the part that said that lol, thanks for the clarification though!

    What happens if you run out of lantern cards? Does the person just not get one?

  • @TheGameBoyGeeks

    Correct if there are no cards to take, you don't get one. You can use this to your advantage knowing this and giving your opponent something they can't take!

    Hey Dan - regarding the favor tokens, what are your thoughts on a player who hordes them for most of the game - during the final round is it possible to cash in all of them to exchange multiple lantern cards before final scoring? Or no matter how many you have, it's just 2 tokens for one lantern exchange. Wasn't clear on that from the in-box rules. Thanks!

  • @TheGameBoyGeeks

    @TheGameBoyGeeks

    +Chris Fay at 7:43 when looking at the mini player aid you can see that you can only exchange two favor tokens to exchange ONE lantern card for another.Therefore it does no good to hold them until the end because you can only do this once per turn. Same goes for the dedication. Only ONE per turn.

    you don't have to read how many cards you have to remove (depending on #players), it takes up a lot of time

    Due to older players' eyesight, even if I show a table in an official Rules School video, the publishers prefer I recite it as well.

    If you want a normal type overview, then watch the review, not the Rules School which is intended to help people setup and play the game without opening the rule book.
