2:18 Whoever came up with that card design is a pure genius. So simple replacement for cubes in Original Evolution, yet it represents big population so well.

I believe there's an error at 2:28? It seems like she should be saying "This is three different species, each with a population of one" (instead of "This is one species with a population of three") or rather, it's the wrong video clip as she illustrates that same case afterwards.

She was showing what she was saying, but it wasn’t showing it. During the second example she moves the cards from the first example to the second example. I’m sure I could’ve said that better but whatever.

I actually like that starting rule. Thematic.

@Ethan: Yep, exactly, you can only eat as much population as you have, anything more than that goes back to the food pile.

This seems super nuancy

What happens to the excess food if you can't eat it? Do you just put it back?

If a species has a long neck and draws out 3 food from excess, can only populations in that species eat it, or can it be shared with the same player's other species? Do you draw just 3 total or 3 for each population? If a carnivore eats a population and draws 2 food, but there's only one population, can the extra go to another species belonging to the same player?

i love this game!

Interesting concept but I was expecting more of a board game complete with artwork covering multiple spaces that players could travel to. Ive just come from a top 20 board game video which recommended this particular game - hence my expectations. Granted, there is a water hole but it seems more like a card game than a board game.

Try searching up Evolution, not Evolution: The Beginning. The latter is a simplified version of the former.

how does the fat tissue card work? where do you get the "food" to support the card? and how do you use it?

It allows you to take an extra food on each population, but the food can come from anywhere. If there is food in the watering hole, take it from there. If you have a long neck or scavenger, that works. If you are a Carnivore, you can attack other species more.

Presumably the food must come from normal play. I.e. you can NOT take from the excess food pile unless you have a trait that allows you to do so, etc.

NorthStarGames can you distribute the excess food from the Long Neck to other species population or just the population in the species that has that long neck?

Only the species with long neck. You species aren’t friends, and the long neck will not share its food with the others. That’s how I think of it if I’m figuring those things out

Can a carnivore continue to attack once the population of that carnivore is full? Meaning, can a player decimate another player and just let the two food from the excess pile stay there since it is not needed? Or does the carnivore have to stop once all the population in that species is full?

Good evening: Thanks for the video. I want to buy Evolution for a special person and we will often play as 2 players. I doubt between this edition the begining and evolution climate. We will also play with more players but more often 2 players. Said this. We prefer a litle more complexity and more fun, and more interesting and more things to do. So, do you recomend evolution climate over this for us? thank you very much.

Pablo Carrillo Díaz I might be a year late but hopefully you made the right decision to get Evolution Climate as it’s really fun game and has its complexity and strategy once the players are comfortable with the mechanics and all which are easy to learn

I got the game! But on the back it doesn’t show bags for points. It shows point screens. Did I get the wrong version?
