When you shoot from a distance. Do burst shooting by tapping fire instead of holding the fire button. The longer you shoot, your accuracy reduces by a lot. It's better to hold when your closer to a target.

For someone not used to FPS games, you actually did not bad. The number one thing I noticed is that when you shoot, you’re effectively standing still most of the time. Strafing and shooting at the same time will increase your survivability dramatically (even if you just do the occasional step to the left or right once in a while), especially if they add other weapons like sniper rifles later. When they do, you’ll always want to be moving or taking cover, thus being aware of where the enemy are. As someone else noted as well, tapping to fire or doing short bursts will help you hit better then going full auto. It’s just something that takes time to get used to doing, so don’t worry if it doesn’t seem natural. Finally, is there a crouch key? If so, use it when looting things to reduce your profile from a distance. All said and done though, have fun as the game looks wild! Wish I had a machine that could play it.

Me and my friends had a blast playing together! Neither of us ever had any disconnection or network issues. We ran into some minor bugs here and there which are expected but overall, we had an excellent experience. The potential this has to expand on EVE Online as a whole is very good. Hopefully the right decisions are made along the way and we can all have a whole different side to the EVE universe that even though we don't need, we could appreciate and enjoy as a comunnity.

I had fun testing it out, of course it's pretty bare bone as is expected of an alpha. If the game successfully make progress or isk or whatever transfer over to eve It will be awesome and I will play the heck out of it.

There's definitely some cross over with things like Pirate Insurgencies and corruption but hopefully more as time goes kn

Looking at this video because I tried the beta test and although I am a relatively skilled FPS veteran player, I got wasted out of nowhere without knowing how and why after moving around a barren rocky map without any hint what to do. that experience was rather offputting, so I want to give it another try.

"I suck at fps games" proceeds to get like four kills.

I just tried Vanguard for the first time just to get the reward SKINs for EvE but after like 3 games I gave up. I had no idea what the hell I was doing. Just running randomly on empty map along other two people. Managed to get like 4 kills, not even sure if they were bots or people. Objectives in this game are really unclear for me and it gets boring for me really fast because I was just running without purpose. Maybe after watching some tutorials I would enjoy it more but I think this game is not for me.

You should team up, even using the in-game matchmaking. Make sure you're taking a contract and trying to complete it. There are objectives

It’s so. Much. Fun. We needed this after the dust shut down. And now we can give feedback and priorities while they develop it. Perfect. Writing my feedback document on Sunday Also edit: I didn’t have any disconnects the whole night, but other streamers had. Seems more common on the US servers

I eventually found it, but it wasn’t as obvious as I expected it to be. I had to create a new character before I saw any vanguard options anywhere

was hoping for something similar to dust 514, or at least a basic fps. hugely disappointing, not to mention that most people get into structures and camp... it's pretty weak sauce... (and don't get me started on the EasyAntiCheat malware.... had to install on my machine that gets wiped every day, rather than on my gaming rig, that crap isn't getting on any machine i care about.)

Dust 514 failed. This game is interesting because there are survival elements which adds alot of importance to pvp.

it looks really good but barebones.. are there vehicles? flying ships? the movement looks very basic too.. no sliding , vaulting, no grappling hooks or jetpacks or something in a scifi game.. DMZ is way better than this

No, there's no vehicles. There's only one gun, one map, and two ammo types. Movement feels really bad, shooting feels pretty good. Of every extraction shooter I have tried I would put this one down at the bottom next to Marauders. Not an ounce of parity with Dust.

@@AustinWigley stop trying to compare it with Dust. They're very different games. That's like trying to compare Fortnite to Tarkov, whilst one of them is in early alpha (not even beta). Having opinions on how the game feels, is fine. Just don't be so blinkered as to be comparing this to a finished product when it so clearly isn't even close to that. This test is meant to give us all a BASIC feel of how the game works. We won't see the full finished product for many many months yet. This is the problem with so many games going into "Early Access" when they're basically finished as an excuse. People forget what an unfinished product ACTUALLY looks like.

@@AustinWigley I'm not here to make Vanguard look good, lmao, I'm enjoying the game, but that doesn't mean everyone will. My issue is that you're comparing a new dinner that's basically the raw ingredients in the pot, to a family favourite that's had years of iterations to perfect. Dust wasn't an extraction shooter. May as well compare the Titanfall 2 campaign to Fortnite. Sure, they've both got guns, but they're not the same thing. And you're comparing a game that's had a year or so of Dev time and is first seeing the light of day with one that completed YEARS of development cycle, plus three years of post dev release... ...and all you're going to do by comparing those two incredibly different games, in different states of development, is look like an idiot whilst disappointing yourself. Take Vanguard on its own merits, not by comparing itself to a game that's gone through all of the development cycle and release, in a different genre.

Pro tip, dont have like 2 minute intro. Get right into the gameplay in the first second. I mean if you want your channel to grow. Thanks anyway for the vid

@@curtis1812 look at the number of players for eve online. They’ve always had smaller player numbers. Bringing in an extra 5000 players a day would be HUGE for them. I often see only 10-15k players on eve online, having 33-50% current playerbase increase would be a massive win and very achievable with what this is
