AmbitionZ Haha not for me, my first son that i wanted to learn to lay was Smells like teen spirit, but couldn't do the quick muted Down-Up-Down-Up part in between the powerchords. Later I wanted to learn Misirlou, and after starting to get the hang of some of it I took a break and played Smells like teen spirit and BOOM I could do it. I'm definitely not learning how to play guitar the right way but I'm a lot more motivated to play.

How's the learning going?

When I was about 9 or 10 years old, in 1972, I was babysitting for my younger cousins. My uncle had one of those starter Yamaha classical guitars; I had never tried to play a guitar at that time. Smoke on Water was a popular single that year and noodling around, I stumbled into those 4 notes, all on the low E string. I remember a tremendous feeling of accomplishment. Great stuff.

My uncle gave me his acoustic guitar, so i decided to learn how to play, found you right away on your video teaching "Wish you were here" and i was able to get pretty good at it within a day or two! the way you teach is fantastic, and all of us beginners love having teachers like you who teach efficiently and concisely. Im 15, only about 2 weeks into it and I am on my 2nd song, thanks for the lessons!

If you really want to get the snarly effect of the record , you have to pluck the 2 strings with your thumb and index. little "inside" trick 😎👍

This is supposedly the easiest and first ever tune people learn to play on the guitar. I plan to learn the guitar someday because it seems like an addictive and awesome instrument to get the hang of. My friend plays it and has given some advice to me which was helpful 👍

Marty, I know that I'm not a paid subscriber and am thoroughly enjoying your beginner lessons. Your style of teaching has kept me interested and practicing twice daily for about 10 minutes a pop. For this, I sincerely thank you. Usually others would say place your fingers here then strum and they would then proceed to try to jam with me when I haven't even learned basics. I'm still in the training wheels part of this adventure. But this song has piqued my interested as it is one of my favorite songs from my youth. When I 1st started your lessons, I was initially using a Takamine classical acoustic guitar half wound steel over nylon and half nylon strings. I am now trying my Fender acoustic all steel string acoustic guitar. It's ok for the 1 finger lesson but difficult to get the right song with the 2 finger lesson. I've also got a Squire Strat but no amp yet. Should I be using that instead? Is there an email address I can use to ask your advice so as not to use a public comment section. Thank you. Ritch
