Dude, I've been playing bossa since 1963. My original sheet music was stolen. Found this. Got as far as the first chord and had to stop to write this. Finally 😎

This is great! I had the chart of these chords from years ago and seem to have lost it. Here it is - the most simplified version I’ve come across. Love the way you don’t waste time with ‘…now put your little finger on the blah,blah blah string of the fourth fret…’ etc. keep ‘em coming Dude and I’ll be back!

*_UGH!!! FINALLY!!!!_* I've been trying to find this lesson with the intro for YEARS... and *_you_* finally brought it! And with the correct chords to boot! All the other people online would skip the entire intro altogether -- and I kept thinking *_'maybe they have a different version than I do?_* ... But I grew up on the Getz/Gilberto album version, which obviously starts off with Astrud singing, so this is the only version I'm familiar with. Man oh man... thank you SO much for *_FINALLY_* showing up on my feed (after years of trying to figure out the intro chords).

Also, even tho there is no D in the first chord, I think of the first chords as a D9 then a D dim7 with the 9 on top. This, to me, gives it a certain logic, as the next chord is Gmi7 to C9, etc. .
Amazing, muito bom man

Nice to see your video, and find another person with an interest in bossa nova. I started working on corcovado about two years ago, and found no two versions of the chords that were the same. The one I thought closest to the the "correct" version (if there is such a thing) had a few difficult chord fingerings that I was able to work out simpler fingerings for. I think a few of your chords are different yet again, so I will review my version to see which of your diffeeent chords may fit better, sound-wise.

This is wonderful! I've been trying to play this for literally 50 years, Your tutorial is making it possible. Some of the chords and hand stretches are tricky for my old hands and stubby fingers so I have some alternative fingerings you might find helpful for some of your students. For the 1st four chords I keep the exact same hand position, with my 2 finger always on the bass note, my hand merely sliding down the fret board one fret at a time. On the Gm7 the fingers are a little crowded with the 1 finger tucked in behind the 3, but it's so much easier to go to the C9. Also, I was having a really difficult time lifting my ring finger for the change from the F Maj7 to the F6. I could never get a clean chord. Maybe because I'm left handed or that finger just refuses to be trained. So instead I just exchange my 3 finger for my 4 finger on the G string for the F6. Don't know why but it's so much easier for me and I get a clean chord every time. Thank you for this lesson. You are the best. Also the chords played on the upbeat is a eureka moment tip!

50 years…. I have been playing for 3 months now, hoping to learn this song when I’m a little better. Hope it doesn’t take 50 years 😮💨
thank's for the great lesson. I think that the Ab9 actually is a A-7, I distinctly hear a natural C (minor third) in the album version, and there is also a A7#5 after the D-7 the second time. Let me know what you think
@MichaelMcClintockMusic
9 ай бұрын
Hi, and thanks. I don't think I ever mentioned an Ab9. You could slip in an A7#5 before the dminor7 for sure though.
Really Smooth. Thank you... I was a musician in my youth. Last year, I picked up guitar and started to explore this beautiful instrument. I play five minutes each day which turns into an hour or more. Bossa Nova is attainable for even me as a beginner. So good.
