Amazing! I would say that you're showing too much pick, but for a solo like this, all it shows is that your picking technique works for you. Keep up the good work!
Is it okay if I use acoustic guitar stings for tres cubano?
Absolutely.
Please teach Triste
Will do. Which key would you like it in?
Thank you for this lesson. Very helpful.
My pleasure.

May I see your version?
Thank you! Very clear and linear!! Really useful!
My pleasure!
Really Smooth. Thank you... I was a musician in my youth. Last year, I picked up guitar and started to explore this beautiful instrument. I play five minutes each day which turns into an hour or more. Bossa Nova is attainable for even me as a beginner. So good.
Excellent! Thank you.
Thank you
👍🙏
Good vidéo thank !! what is your string gauge on your pm and playing and how far from the neck do you play?
Thanks! I use .11 gauge strings. I rest my hand on the bridge so I'm not too close to the neck.
Thank you!!!
My pleasure.
You do a great job teaching sambas. Can you do Samba da Volta? That's a really cool brazilian tune I'd love to learn. Thanks :)
Thank you! I'll check out Samba da Volta. I don't think I've ever heard that one.
The most massive break ever. Nice guitar...got the same one sitting in my lap as I type this. I think the KZread algorithm is getting a little too...deep.

Fabulous lesson Michael. Thank you!❤
Thank you!
If I could make only one wish with aladdin’s magic lamp, I would ask him to be able to play like that on guitar!
Oh, that's very kind. Thank you!
I have a question: as I saw it the scale contains FMajor, Fminor, F Lydian, F Dim triads, and these move through the four target tones. Your example showed going V-I or i but I wonder is there ways to use this to add color to major tonality. I am asking in the context of James by Metheny where there's not a whole lot of V-I going on but on different live versions with him, Mays, Brecker etc they get pretty active chromatically and I'd like to see if this scale has some kind of application on this kind of song.
Good question. You can definitely superimpose some dominant chord ideas even if there aren't many V7 chords in the A sections of James. For example you could think about A7 over the 3rd and 4th measures even though it's got different chords written. This will definitely give you a nice "outside" sound. Does this make sense?
@@MichaelMcClintockMusic yes it does make sense, and I like that idea of superimposing a seventh onto a major. Currently at my level with that tune I have been sort of looking at that A7 in bar 3 as approaching the Bmin so I have tried a common tone approach from G to Gdim over the A7 that leads by half step to chord tones on the Bmin. On the B section, the bridge, I haven't yet found a way to execute well other than simply outlining chords or else side-slipping but I feel as though I'd love to superimpose some dominants in that section too so that when, or if, I do side-slip that it comes from a deeper well of mastery on the form.
If you're ever interested in a lesson, I'm here to help. It's a great tune for sure.
Amazing, what a feel
Thank you!
A masterpiece of our music, when we had terrific musicians, songwriters, and performers; Brazilian music being widely appreciated, playing on the radios in Brazil, they were the mainstream. Today is a shame, the media has reduced our richest music and culture to a bundle of poor songs highly influenced by the worst pop music ever. Thank you for what you have been doing in your channel, spreading the beauty and complexity of our music and culture. Muito obrigado.
Thank you! I try my best.
Brilliant!!!
Thank you! Good luck on your guitar journey and let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for the lesson. Now I can do it!!

The full lesson is on his channel, just do a search Corcovado Michael McClintock. You will find the lesson and his video playing the full song as well. He also has a very interesting short about making the chord transitions on this song smoother. Hoping this helps
Suena precioso......q' buen trabajo 🎵🍷
Nice so rare to have a lesson this song 🙏
Great tip, one suggestion I’d have is to play a few bars in time so that people can get a feel for what it sounds like
Thanks for the pdf man!

I appreciate that, Jay! Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your excellent teaching methods with all of us. Aloha from Hawaii, Gilberto.
My pleasure!
Dear Michael thank you for this lesson. I think you have to replace the fingering sketch 4 and 3 to 3 and 4 in the first chord of the bridge DMaj9.
Your absolutely correct. My apologies for the mistake.
