I've returned to piano after a looooong break (uh.... more than a decade!) and your videos are so, so incredibly informative, watcheable, interesting, and thorough. I just wanted to leave a comment telling you that truly your channel is always open on my ipad as I play, and sometimes I end up on your channel rather than google when I have a question. This video and your Waltz in A Minor masterclass helped me go from a laboring "ode to joy" to a genuinely listeneable intermediate level. Thank you!!!

Where in one's piano journey would be the best place to do this? I do want to learn this piece but am only 3.5 months into learning piano.

The piece is level 10 RCM (out of “12” ish levels) and level 5 Henle (out of 9 levels). For most adults this is going to be at least a handful of years into piano study, for most children taking lessons it’s 8 to 10 years into study. You should be comfortable playing arpeggio patterns in sixteenth notes at around 100 bpm, scales in sixteenths should probably be around 130 bpm, and scales in octaves in both hands should be accessible and doable at a slow to moderate tempo, like eighths at 70bpm. Hopefully those technique “pre reqs” give you some goals to aim for and in the meantime there’s a massive amount of beautiful repertoire to play as well!
