Here goes a suggestion for another video: What do you think of making a video where you explain a bit more complex concepts, like "sacrifice", "fianchetto", "gambit/counter-gambit", "zugzwang", "bad/good bishop", "tactical x positional style", "fortress", "initiative", etc.?

Thanks man for teaching chess rules and pieces ! very complicated but still very nice !!!
I can surely see the great effort put into this video, it is actually very informative! the only problem is that it explains rules and moves that are a bit too much for a total beginner (like myself) made me feel overwhelmed when I was only trying to figure out the basics
I don't really know how to play chess, I've just decided to learn it because it kinda looks interesting. This video really teaches all the basics without overcomplicating it even more.
Wow, I never knew chess was this complicated (Coming from a newbie) I can see why people enjoy the game though! It's very interesting but really hard to understand at first. For instance, I am kinda confused about the stuff the pawn does, but I know I'll get there eventually. My mom can actually play chess, so she can explain it to me too :P Either way, thanks for the tutorial! I'm off buying a chess board now :)

The ”en passant” -rule is a little bit confusing for new players. But other than that the pawns movement isn’t too hard to master. It moves one square at a time. It captures diagonally. And on its first move of the game it has the option to move 2 squares. -Easy.
I did not know about the En passant rule, NOW I WILL USE THAT TO MY ADVANTAGE IN THE COMPETION IM GOING TOO 🤣🤣
Great video, thank you so much!
The only thing I didn't like about this video was that you started to talk in terms of algebraic notation without explaing it, and that you talked about the value of the pieces, without explaining what is it for(so to speak). This was just constructive criticism. Dont take it wrong!
Umf this went in through one ear and out the other how does everyone remember all this
@Texy88
5 жыл бұрын
Learning gradually, piece by piece. Once you have mastered how one piece moves and captures (which shouldn’t take too long) then learn the rules of another piece. Eventually you will have learned all of the pieces’ rules and be ready to play.

And I thought learning guitar was difficult 🤦🏻♂️
nice one. I find it soooo difficult to explain chess to someone who has no idea how it is played. Even you left a hundred questions open that we would never ask, but someone else might: can you take your own pieces? Does the Knight capture on all the squares he moves through? When I block a check with my Queen, giving check at the same time to the opponent's King, is it a check? Because I couldn't really capture his king without getting my King into check again. Weird questions but I've been asked them a lot :D And they are mostly logical questions^^
Thank you.Clearly explained.I'm a total beginner and need all the help I can get!
