I'm a classical player who can handle concertos but I'm intimidated by jazz. This is exceptional, and really helpful. Thanks.

As a brazilian I must say its a pretty accurate video :D. But its good to add that is a "fast bossa", which uses a more "samba" bassline, the "slow bossa" (which is the one we reffer when we say "bossa nova") has a less rhytmic bassline (the syncopation of the right hand remains the same in both styles). But wonderful job!

Thanks so much for the lovely comment Jonas! I love reading it. I remember when I first got into jazz. I was so inspired but had to find out where to look for information by myself, there was no one I knew when I first started who could show me the way. Really glad my videos are there for you!

Nice! Thanks for the question Kurt. I would play LH bassline and RH chords when playing with a singer, or another instrument that is playing the melody or a solo. It's a good texture to accompany another player with, especially if you have no bass player. But playing this pattern solo piano will get boring fairly quickly.

Hey PlanBeatz - yeah that's a modulation (key change). It's subtle - pop music used to do this a lot more in the old days. Recently everything seems to stick to one key. I've been listening to the Police a lot lately - they have a good amount of modulation. Just like the song you sent me - they do it subtly. One of my favorite ways to change key is if you're in C minor, you can modulate to the key of F minor: Play a C minor chord, then go to Db major chord, then to F minor. Now you're in F minor
