Bandai Namco (all fighting game creators for that matter) need to hire content creators such as yourself to either consult or contribute directly into the development of future fighting game, this stuff needs to be available as part of the game.

Thing is, his throw mixup is good since it's ambiguous. I think u have to guess if the person is applying the mixup he showed early one on. His main weekness is tracking. If he had a rly good tracking move, his main weekness would be his ws punishment. I think overall, hard grinding with armor king can cover most of his weaknesses. Rage drive is kinda meh though

Hell nah, Bro. I'm a Bryan main & I'd say AK is a DLC character, but he's definitely NOT broken. If he wanna talk about suck ass DLC characters, I'd say Noctis and Leroy.

Justin Iglesias has one the best Armor kings I've ever seen and man,his utilisation of AK's stone cold stuner is just pure art .

Worth mentioning that chain throws have build in mix-up. Its ont only 2 break, its actually 1 break as well depends on Armor Kings input (cd 1+4 or 2+3) so mix-up dangerous than you think.

also worth mentioning sometimes they will use another move before that to buffer the input of 1 or 2, if you start recognizing this situation you can break the throw by recognizing the last limb he used i'm awful at throwbreaks if it wasn't for that i'd be eating them all, lol

These 8 minute guides are really good.

There is a reason why alot of Kazuya mains have AK seconds and vice versa. The game plan for both of them is to wait for your opponent to miss and then take them apart piece by piece.

They are somewhat similar but IME Armor King players are way more defensive. Not relying on big 50/50's anywhere as much. Because AK has better pokes but not the crazy big moves that Kazuya has. Kazuya's oki is also way more annoying and unga-bunga (not saying it's easy to do all the really good moves kaz has, but they have great properties for what they are). Kazuya is not a poking character (even if kazuya players use EWGF like it was a poke) in comparison. Meanwhile armor king has great basic pokes, it's just he has to be more careful than a lot of other poking-oriented characters in continuously throwing them out.

Honestly at that level, just pace and space. Keep distance and let them hang themselves, they do running grabs be ready with a 1+2 break. Low parry the spam. King is very well rounded, low levels he can be a great scrub killer, high level he can have crazy setups and solid pokes and of course, absurd mixups due to grabs

Ya take your time and you take away one of their mix up they keep doing. If you do that they'll have change up to something you'll have a better chance against.

Be defensive and take your time. They both are counter hit hunters with solid pokes. Keep distance don't press.

@@foreveruseless1292 if you're on PC you can just play on a mechanical keyboard for the same experience, only real reason for a mixbox is to play at tournaments and the arcade buttons are satisfying

Try to keep Armor King out. His pokes is much stronger than Gigas's, and try to not whiff anything, Armor King can't capitalize on Gigas if you don't whiff anything.

You don't have to crouch cancel dark upper, but you do get more damage that way. It's a difference of 7 damage compared to hopkick

@@soulist8224 i mean, they need do crouchcancel if they want to ewgf but is not recomended since its very hard to do and they can just ws2. Heihachi pre s3 needed do cc ewgf after a high whiff or a blocked sweep if he wanted to lauch. Tmm showed cc dark upper to show its possible and how whiff punishment works with ak (and to show off a bit cause masku), in this situation hopkick or ws1 work fine. But is important to note that dark upper gives a better combo than the previous two (80 damage with no walls if you can do the bigboy cd1 combo)

i have 250 matches and never seen a armor king on ranked

4:14 Actually, GS and HD don’t have the same animation. Same for King’s GS and MB. They look similar but you can learn to break and distinguish them on reaction.

Shining wizard uses the same animation as GS, right? GS animation is where he crosses his arms, also his elbows have a different position.

@@Alpdude If you set the computer to do GS or iSW in practice mode you won’t see a difference. However, humans don’t work like that. SW and GS are both telegraphed unless you use macros. Let me explain what I mean: If you come from a running stance, SW will come out smoothly but with GS you will stop for a brief moment before executing the throw. Or if you do the throws after a 1,2 jab string for example, GS will come out immediately while with iSW you will come a few steps forward. It’s not easy to distinguish between these 2 throws but they are not a true mixup if you practiced breaking them properly. But honestly you won’t find a lot of players who know what I just explained above.

Db4? Tricky as some characters (like AK) can punish it while others can't depending on their pick up and okizeme options. If you can, go for okizeme as it will give you momentum as he has to get up into your offence

Dark upper can deal even more damage if you do cd1 1 cd1 db24 into fff2+4

4:36 This is one of the stuffs I personally think should be changed in the upcoming games.

Umm now i’m confused, if in the beginning of the video you said that he’s a character that utilize spacing to poke his opponent from far away, well when are we going to use those wavedash mix-ups?

i think in general you can apply mix ups when it's "your turn". Like guy below said, after a knockdown, after 2,1 (gives +7), after block punishing, or if he "respects" you (you wavedash empty and he does nothing). Or when you need to do a comeback, when you're low on health and you have to take risks to win, that's also a good (albeit predictable) time to use mixups.

You poke and whiff punish your opponents until they start hesitating. Wavedash block > they whiff > whiff punish. When they start being scared to press you can utilize your wd mixup. But in general his wd is riskier than normal mishimas because you have to get really close to your opponent compared to a hellsweep.

This video backs up my opinion on AK. He may not be broken, good or anything like that, but his whole kit just works too well imo. Being a spacing oriented grappler with insane whiff punishment? Not the simplest shit to face as a DLC character ^^

However I do agree that labbing dlc characters is a problem in general (ofcourse), but even in that I think there are even more problematic chracters such as ganryu and zafina that are crazy obnoxious that require more labbing than armor king.

Well, don't get me wrong here. I'm not calling AK an obnoxious problem or anything, especially when there's characters like Geese, Ganryu, Zafina or Fahk... Anyway, remember when Eliza was considered bottom tier, because of "bad frames" ? Hm.. People just tend to cling on frames etc too much imo, when their whole kit's utility is something completely different ^^

Idk what you mean by "too well" but yes he's a complete character (other than lacking a ws 13 punisher) i agree. He is a good character, is he OP? no and I think both of us can agree on that. And being a DLC character is an issue with bamco's business policy not balance or an advantage, bamco could leave Leroy as broken as he is today on release, but if he were lab-able without purchasing it, Leroy would still be regarded as Broken even if he was lab-able.

Practice! Hopkick into CD1 is possible too and the timing on that is very tight.

Oh god. He's throwing that BS out there about why people do wave dash. I can see it in his eyes it's BS.. If you're doing it to look good, do it, just know you might be punished. I don’t know why people listen to TMM tips and stick to it instead of using your own judgement.
