Seriously I was devastated when I found out they were shutting down the servers looks like I need a PC now

note to anyone returning: when you log in for a second time your login details will autofill, then a bug will give you a connection error. all you need to do is re-type the email and password and it'll work. not a huge issue but one people should know about to keep servers populated

I’m a console player so I’m hoping the community will come together and make a custom sever. I know the PS3 community has brought back many legacy games that have had their severs shut down. Otherwise I’ll be getting a low end gaming laptop to run this masterpiece from 2010 because I’m that devastated it will be gone today.

😂Yes i would definitely get a low end laptop to run this game.. the lower the better..in fact I would get one so low that you won’t be able to play it 😂🤣

you can get a HP Z230 or Z240 with an i5 and i7 it'll run this game like butter on its IGPU, it's so easy to run on PC

Hello :) We are two young scientists and are doing our PhD in the field of information systems. My colleague used to play bc2 on the Xbox. When the shutdown was announced, we had the idea to write a scientific paper about it. Over the course of the year, these plans became more concrete, and now I want to conduct an interview-based study with gamers (you) about how they perceived the shutdown and how you deal with it. We are now looking for interviewees to talk to about bc2 and the shutdown in general. An interview would usually take place online (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Team speak, Xbox Live, Skype... whatever works) and last about 0.5 - 1 hour (but really flexible). Preferably we would record it and write it down for analysis (notes would also be possible if you don't feel comfortable with that). Of course, no personal information will be published or shared. So if you are interested and willing to participate, please send a short message here (or a thumb) and we can figure out the rest. We would be delighted if this would actually work out. Thank you. No. A Big Thank You. I followed everything in the video it worked perfect. My soldier rank was updated and as of 2-6 -2024 there were 50 + servers.

This was when Battlefield was the best. I used to think Battlefield was hardcore until I started playing Hell Let Loose. But HLL reminds me a little of BF2.

It says I am missing two .dll files. I never had a problem before. When I apply the Rome file, I can't even play on single player. BFBC2 refuses to open, take it out and it opens.

Good evening, I have a problem that I don't understand, I created a NEW ACCOUNT, I log in to all the servers but I can't use ALT-F4... my game is from Steam, the file was placed in the home folder, as in the video tutorial, But the only server that doesn't work is ALT-F4......... is there another way to enter ALT-F4? On the VU help page it says that it could be a bad configuration ON the server, Can anyone help me resolve this?

it worked well for me on battlefield 2 bad company multiplayer but on the vietnam mode i can't find anyone on the servers is there something i've missed?

Is this for pc only any ps3 servers

the only thing that keeps me from playing is not being able to strafe while sprinting

I had no clue the servers got shut down, I’ve been playing for a decade ever since my dad bought me the ps3 super slim back in 2013. I was only playing online like an year and a half ago man :(

What about patches? I have disc version that of course isn't the latest version of the game. Does it also patch it automatically or I need to patch it myself somehow?

@@ClassicPCgames-Shauneyboy i had the game as a physical copy to begin with, i found it, put the code in, says its already in use. Log out, log in again, suddenly i can see it xD. Thanks for the advise though

Digital copies of this game is no longer available, if you want to get the game legally, you need to get your hands on a CD disc unfortunately.

If you guys can pass it to the Rome Devs: Now is a great time to make BC2 32 vs 32 instead of 16 vs 16. It was limited because of console play. Hell, even 50 vs 50?

@@wakeup5998 When community did take over the BF2 online playing management the BF2Hub tool imported the player stat too. I just had to login with the same player name and all my stat was the same.

@@yourimmortal6228I'm an old man, and they put me to a lot of trouble, but I felt that it was theft and persisted. I had both the base game and Vietnam on disc and has to send them pics and receipts of where I bought them all to take care of their mistake. The last guy I talked to was so dead pan not wanting to apologise that he sounded like a zombie.

Just buy the game instead... EA wants money, and as long as BF3 brings in money they won't shut down those servers. The last thing we need is that EA kills yet another battlefield game.

servers are well populated, doesn't look like it unless you sort by player count in the search. then the full ones appear at the top
