Not a poor harmonic instrument, a harmonically poor instrument, meaning its sound is low in overtones and harmonics. To understand this better, compare a sine wave(the most harmonically poor sound possible) to a sawtooth wave or a cymbal.

@@ajhauter5049idk chords sound pretty good usually they need to be spaced out more in the lower range playing thirds on the lower frets of the E and A strings is obviously going to be very muddy the same could be said for playing that on a piano. But chords in the upper register sound great. Or especially if you finger a chord say an a minor shape on the fifth fret of e string and then tap that same shape but rooting it on the 12th fret using tapped harmonics you can get an eminor chord because your tapping the harmonic node that is a fifth away

I had to do a job shadow for high school and i ended up cold calling a renowned bass player in the american new age jazz scene (i guess lol i didnt/dont know anything about that world) named Glenn Moore who ended up giving me lessons free for a little while and the beginning of every group lesson was all of us going up and down the neck finding and playing all of the harmonics. Glenn is an awesome dude and he let me play his beautiful bass made in the 1790s! it had a carved lions head on the headstock and he used a low c instead of e :)
