I planted my tulips and daffodils a month ago and I'm happy to say they are coming up! You can plant bulbs in February guys, it works! Just wanted everyone to know just in case they are worried that February is too late, apparently it is not!

@haneesolanki3346 I did not. I didn't even know that was a thing. I simply put them in the soil and a couple months later they came up.

@teeteeme5752 I don't know for sure. The ones I planted last year's stems are already fully grown at this point, almost ready to flower. If you give it a try, please let me know, because I'm wondering this too. I moved to another home and have to start my garden fresh this year and I'm curious if they will still come up around may if I start my garden now. If I get to it, I'll let you know too. Will this process bring bloom once?

I just planted some tulips in my garden and I'm afraid I'm too late. It says November - December on the package and here I am in February hoping they will be okay, If not I guess I'll see them next year. I love this though it makes me so excited for mine! I can not wait for spring! I have lily's and gladiolus from the previous years but as you probably know they don't come up till late spring/early summer so I hope these can come up at the beginning of spring so I can have a good steady staggered grow of different flowers coming up from early spring till late fall. I guess we will see I will be posting on my page the progress if any.

They do. These must have been pre- cooled in a fridge, cold basement, or outside.

Most potting soils should work. I plant these directly in my outside soiled garden so I just essentially use what's around me. When I plant my vegetables I like to use coca coir because it's light and airy then I add perlite, vermiculite, bat guano, earth worm castings (most important nutrient in any garden), blood meal, bone meal, and chicken poop. There are other nutrients you can add if you'd like but these are a few things I put in mine. It's worked for me every year with my veggies so it could work for tulips as well.

I just did. I hope it's okay I figured better late than never. The package said plant November - December and I'm 2 months late so I'm hoping that's enough time and they come up this spring. I'll keep you updated! If they come up I will be posting a video of them on my channel 😀

@@Msebastian2010 No not yet. It's still early here though I expect them to hopefully come up in april/may which is when daffodils and tulips start popping up in my area. I will definitely keep everyone updated though!

Tulips are actually a cold weather plant, so you can’t actually grow them in an all year round warm or tropical climate, but only in one that has a cold autumn and winter season. The flowers bloom in Spring after it goes through a cold dormant season of growth under the soil.

@@wenchy387 Hi there! I don’t know what kind of climate you have in Florida, but tulips usually bloom only in Spring and possibly may go all the way till early summer. It will die off when it gets too hot. If you’re getting already grown tulips then you can get them around late winter or early Spring when it’s warming up but still not too warm. Someone here just said they planted the tulip bulbs in last month of winter and it’s already growing, so that means it works. One other important thing to take note though is that tulips do not like overly wet weather, the bulbs can rot if too wet, so if your area rains a lot, you may need to keep it out of the wet weather until that ties over. Hope that helps and have fun!
