Also sharing a tentative itinerary, till then. We hope this would be helpful in planning your trip. You can tweak this as per your requirements. Day 1: Land in Denpasar airport. Transfer to hotel in Ubud. Explore Ubud market in evening, have dinner and sleep. Day 2: Ubud sightseeing - Goa gajah, Saraswati temple, Ubud market, Tegalalang Rice terrace Day 3-4: If you enjoy trekking or like adventure go for Kintamani and Mount Batur Trek. You can also cover the famous temples and waterfalls located in North and Central Bali Day 5: you can go for a Nusa Penida island trip. Alternatively you can cover some of the beaches of South Bali and visit Tanah Lot and/or Uluwatu temple Day 6: Cover the places you may have missed on the previous days and take a return flight Day 7: An extra day for Nusa Penida island visit

Hi Sourabh, for shopping we will suggest Krishna Oleh Oleh. Its a fixed price shop with variety of items from Bali. We couldn't explore a lot of food options around airport but we have heard good things about few restaurants like Warung Gula Bali, Lusi and Pakan, Segara Bambu.

Hi Nitin, in the scenario of a self transfer a visa would be required at Kuala Lumpur as you would need to go through immigration and customs to collect your baggage and re-checkin. This maybe a hassle. Would suggest opting for a flight where the airline takes care of the luggage transfer and you do not need to go through immigration.

Sure Smriti. We will try to do that. May is a pleasant time in Bali and you can wear summer clothes comfortably. Dresses, shorts, jeans, all of these can be easily worn. 🙂 I carried mostly comfortable dresses and bought some in Ubud for around 200 Rs. (Bargain is the key). We hope your Bali visit turns out lovely. Enjoy !

Regarding travel insurance, many a times the credit and debit cards, we may be using, have certain things covered related to International travel. Would suggest you to check that once. For the parts that maybe already covered you can avoid an additional insurance.

Hi Swedit, the major cost item while traveling to Bali are the flight tickets. Accomodation and local travel shouldn't be very costly. 156K may be little expensive. Will suggest to check the accomodation cost as per itinerary, once planned. That way you will be more confident on your decision while selecting between package and a self planned trip. Do let us know if you may have further queries.

Hi Anushka, pre-covid Indians used to be exempted from Visa in Bali. Post pandemic there has been a change in the rules. Visa in now required for Indians. It can be obtained on arrival.

This can be obtained via a form (Form 2) or by writing to the relevant RTO office (the one from which DL has been issued). It takes between 3-4 days for the International driving licence to be processed following the submission of required documents. The local RTO office would be the best place to get more information on this.

Better strategy would be to not have excessive cash by the end of your Bali trip and use the remaining cash for buying gifts and shopping for friends, family and self 🙂

Hi Debjit, you will be landing in Denpasar which is closer to beach. Kuta, Jimbran, Nusa Dua, Nusa Penida are closer from Denpasar so if you want to explore beaches in particular, you can chose to stay in Kuta or similar areas which are economical and easily accessible. But if you want to enjoy city life equally, it does not matter when you go to city and when beach because for flight you will have to come back to Denpasar. So you can either start with beaches first, go to Ubud for a day or two and return to Denpasar for flight, or you can first visit Ubud, stay there for few days, come back to Denpasar, go to beaches and take flight from there. Both will be economical. Places like Seminiyak might be a little costly for stay. So you can stay in say, Kuta, and visit Seminiyak for a day and return.

Hi Pawan, Glad that you found the information handy. The official website to book visa on arrival is : molina.imigrasi.go.id/ The current amount is USD 35 which roughly translates to 3k per person. If you check their information page here: molina.imigrasi.go.id/front/info/evoa it says *The Visitor Visa fee is IDR 500.000,00* This amount in INR is 2,786 Rs roughly. If you booked via third party, they may have charged service fee, but still the charges are very high. Please check with them why the charges are higher.

Hi Sanskruti! We are preety bad at it ourselves but will try suggesting you a few things. Keep your passport handy. Keep some medicines and comfortable clothes. Ensure that you keep all the things with you that you use on a daily basis. Also don't forget the chargers for your electronic gadgets and items. Hope this helps - at least a little 😛

Hi Akhil, along with the Indian DL an International Driving Permit is needed as well. Details regarding this can be obtained from the nearest RTO.

As flights To bali have layover at Singapore or kaula lampur do we need Visa for layover ? Please suggest.

Hi Ajinkya! For a layover visa won't be needed. If you plan to step out of the airport and explore Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, only then visa would be needed for those places. As long as you stay in the airport, visa won't be needed.

Hi Do we genuinely need the International Driving Permit to ride only scooty in Bali? Did you get that? If yes how much time it takes to get that?

Hi Shashank, yes wo took it. Although, it was not checked at any point for us. Usually the chances of checking are greater in Southern Bali (Kuta, Denpasar region) than in Central Bali (Places in and around Ubud). Usually, the application gets processed within a weeks time.

Hi Piyali! Glad to know about your upcoming Bali trip. For Bali, at present, covid related additional tests are not needed. Double vaccination certificate should be sufficient.

How much should one carry Indian currency for 6 days considering 3 persons or better to take US dollar and get converted in local exchanges ?

Hi Pranab, if you have US Dollars with you, it would be best to use. The currency conversion rates would be better for USD over INR.

@@AalseeRiders Thanks a lot for yr reply.Any guess , how much USD should i carry for 6days 5night, since we will be spending most on food and ride as our hotels are mostly booked and nothing much to spend on shopping except few souvenirs or goodies.

Nice video. Just one query if may answer. What about vaccination. Is vaccination compulsory for kids ..15 year. If it's not compulsory, any other requirement

Hello! As per the prevailing guidelines, children below 18 are exempt from vaccination in Bali. The parents or caregivers accompanying the children should be fully vaccinated.

I just looked into the flight details and saw that there is no checkin baggage, and if we need one, we need to shell out good amount of money. Can you please throw light whether you guys opted for checkin baggage and if not, what are the suggestions or tips you could share.

Hi Kriti, this happens with certain flights. Air Asia is an example. In case the flight is showing only 7 kg cabin baggage, you would have the option of purchasing additional KGs for check in. This can be done during the time of ticket booking as an add on. And can also be done on the website of the airline post booking of tickets. The last option would be to pay at the counter while boarding. The last option is costlier than the other 2.

This free baggage carrying option varies from flight to flight. We had travelled on Malaysian airlines. At that time they did not have restrictions on the checkin baggage. The ticket was slightly costlier than the non-checkin baggage related flight options. If someone has luggage they can opt for flights which allow check-in. If someone is traveling light, for them the non check-in option is attractive.

Hi, we are travelling as family, me and my wife with two daughters aged 10 and 13 years. Especially my 10 years kid is not vaccinated. We have a vietjet flight through Hanoi Vietnam (3-5 hours layover). Do you think not being vaccinated and not having RTPCR might cause an issue ?

Hi Surbhi! For Bali, Kuala Lumpur is one of the most common layover points. We changed our flight at KL. This airport is huge and has multiple stores, eateries and resting areas. One suggestion would be to first reach close to the connecting flight gate and then indulge in recreation. As these airports are huge, with multiple terminals, reaching the correct departure gate may take more time than expected and can create avoidable panic.

Avoid taking too long a layover. You would otherwise reach Bali in an exhausted condition and may need to spend a day there resting. Layover upto 4-5 hours would be ok. If you have a credit card on which International Lounge Access is enabled then that would be an additional cherry on the cake 🙂

Can you please tell me that after reaching Bali if we directly withdraw money through Airport's ATM, will the currency will be Indonesia's currency and there won't be any need for currency exchange??

Hi Sonia! Yes, on withdrawing money from the ATM in Bali the currency will be Indonesian. You wouldn't need any currency exchange.

Hi, upto 6000 Dollars aap apne saath carry kar sakte hain. Isse zyada amount agar ho toh customs pe declare karna hota hai pehle se.

Hi Lalit! 1.6 Lacs with parents can be a good deal. Do check about the accomodation details and internal travel details. If they are not attractive then you can consider booking by self. If they are good, then this package seems attractive at the rates prevailing presently.

Hi, we travelled by Malaysian Airlines. The cost was around 30 thousand per person for round trip (after discounts and offers).
