I wish there was a very in depth tutorial on measuring the tubing as a follow-up.

This channel is fantastic, wish you were around when I attempted my first hard loop!

This was an incredible video, to the point with excellent scripting and editing, way better than the more famous you tubers who spend too much time joking around. Thank you!!

Pipe cleaners are a great idea thank you for that. But to improve it I use stiff copper electical wire (around 3-4 mm thick) Way more stiff, thus easier to work with.

Yup same principle, works really nicely for roughing out a path, although both methods lack precision so are best for working out the route mainly.

Great video! I'm working on my first custom water cooling loop right now and it's very overwhelming. I really appreciate your tips. I didn't know that the Thermaltake fittings worked that way. Do EK-Torque fittings work like the Alphacool or the Thermaltake ones?

Do it in Cad :D. Watercooling: where you need to know chemistry to know coolant and tube compatibility and avoiding galvanic corrosion, CAD for making a project, physics for reservoir mounting location, manual skills for heating/bending tubes, interior design for making the loop look good, patience of a budist monk for the project, specialized tools and it can still go terribly wrong. Do we do this just because we like the challenge? :D

This applies to Modded Water Cooling, yes. Regular Watercooling lacks the interior design, CAD, Tool, physics and chemistry part. If you do it like most of the other people you're good.

Hello! How do you get so precise dimensions in order to prepare the CAD 3D drawing? For example, if you buy a new computer case and you plan to draw it in 3D, how you manage to get all the dimensions? Do you do that manually? Thanks!

You could laser scan it if you really go hard. But most people just grab an accurate measuring ruler, a pair of calipers, and an angle gauge. Then grab the dimensions of the case manually. If you don't have the case you can also work with sketch pictures which contain dimensions you can reference scale from. Those can often be found on the cases web page.

Working with CAD seems to be a precise method if handled well. Could you do a tutorial for that at some point in the future?

It's on the tables for sure. It's quite a specific thing so some extra thought will have to be put into it, but it could be a good move. A number of upcoming videos will feature quite a few machined parts, where CAD/CAM is essential, so it makes sense to get everybody involved in the process :D

He uses fusion 360 which is free

foam hair curlers. (shapeable wire with a foam cover) various sizes including 12/14/16mm 👍

Ok I'm new to water cooling.. I got my cpu block.. the diameter of the hole is 1/2.. what size fittings would I need? I see so much of 1/4 and 3/8.., sorry for dumb question

Hey hope you can help me out. im basically trying to plan my first hardline loop and trying to find somewhere in the UK that i can get all the fittings from is a nightmare! and iv ended up mixing fittings. im looking at some Alpha cool fittings, Thermaltake Fittings and Bits power. will this matter or should they play nicely together? where do you get all of your fittings from as i cant find anywhere that actually has all the fittings i need from one brand.

MarkAndDoogleShow They’ll all work fine with one another as long as you stick to the same sizes. Have you tried WCUK? They tend to have the largest fitting selection I’ve found.

@@bittech1 Iv been having a look but struggling. i think i might be overthinking/Complicating things for my self. also does size matter with how easy it is to bend? im looking at 16MM tubing but wondering if 12 is easier/ more forgiving to bend for a novice? Also thanks for replying :) and very quickly at that

This is so hard not to say some negative shit.

This really shouldnt be titles as "how to". More like tips and tricks. He says loop order is really important for functionality but gives no detail or even a single example.

this is exactly a "how to", he taught you "how to plan", how is that not a how to? A "tips and tricks" is "take two pipe cleaners and twine them together to make them a little bit stiffer" As he mentioned about functionality "how easy is it going to fill to drain and to bleed" that's detail, yeah no examples, but it's pretty common sense to me. Plan a drain at the lowest point, avoid a lot of bends and loops for easier bleed and drain, fill hole be accessible, pump receiving ample water from the reservoir, common sense. and he didn't need to even say that, this is a "how to plan" not a "what to plan for" video.

What is wrong with me that i want to get a scissors and cut it off so badly?..please let me do it...

Spend a lot of time to Create a highly detailed cad model and then use pipe cleaners and do it by hand. What a stupid idea
