How to pitch a jig for BIG BASS

Спорт

I show how to pitch a black and blue jig for big bass in a South Florida rock and gravel pit. Heavy tackle with 50# braid does the job with a pre-spawn lake with 70 degrees water temperature.

You know you're a pro when you catch a 7.36 lb bass and it doesn't make you giddy with excitement. If I caught one that size, I would look like a little kid on Christmas Day getting the toy he always wanted. lol

That is because he knows how to dead stick his lures and most of us ammeters are not patient enough for that... If you move you lure it wil catch little bass, if you just dead stick your lure it wil catch bigger fish... Same lure, same lake, same everything else... It is the dead sticking that makes the difference

Private lakes are hardly fished. Not saying it’s easy by any means but those fish are aggressive. I fish a private lake and slay them. Then go to public lakes and you have to work a little harder for them.

As a boy, I watched all the fishing shows. Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston, Hank Parker, Bill Dance,,,,,all of them. Then when they had the first of the two BMC’s on the Red River in Shreveport, at the convention/trade show, after all those years of watching these guys on TV, all of a sudden there they all were in person and I felt like a had just seen the President! And by this time I was a grown man and still giddy about seeing all these men in person that I watched for so many years!

Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup kzread.infoUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

He’s not kidding about line watching. The first jig bass I ever caught...it was sinking to the bottom under this dock when all of the sudden, the line started moving out to the side at a pretty quick pace. I’d figured that either physics was broken and we were all about to float off the planet or a bass had picked it up. Turned out it was the latter *BAM* and in the boat he comes. Line watching is two things...nice and easy...super effective.

Got my first bass of the year poppin a jig last week 👍 To anyone who’s hesitant to get into jigs, just go for it. I spent the first 25 years of my fishing life saying “meh, jigs are too much...a texas rig will do the trick”. Then, last summer, I’d had it and decided I was going to use ONLY a jig for one day just to figure them out. I stuck one under the FIRST DOCK I hit, first cast...tossed it as far back as i could, let it sink, the line started moving to the side at a pretty frantic pace and blammo. You couldn’t write a more ridiculous outcome. I then realized I had wasted over 2 decades ignoring jigs. A year later, the jig is in my top 3 “confidence baits”. You just gotta go for it sometimes...
