It is always nice to have the mechanics explained. It is hard for some teachers to take the time to fully explain the purpose and variations of poses. Thank you.

I've binge watched all your videos. doing your stuff daily and it's helping me a ton with all of my joint issues. I have a torn meniscus and degenerative disc disorder but I still do a manual labor job every day so I need my joints to work. You're so wonderful and lovely for helping everyone else and you're a brilliant marketer to boot. I find myself looking for the card in your videos so I can see what else you can tell me about my body that I don't already know! Keep it up, you're amazing and beautiful, mind, body and soul!

Great video, I have been wondering about this pose! Knee wider than the hip is a great point which I hadn’t realized, and really good to know that the shin doesn’t have to be parallel :)

Really good pigeon pose tutorial! I don't see many ones where the mechanics and the anatomy of the intended stretches are discussed a lot, so this is an automatic like and subscribe.😀 I'm working with a bum surgery injury so stretches like these have become really hard for me again, and I have to start from scratch from the very easiest variations haha!

I have only recently started doing yoga and I am 58. I have a lot of issues with breathing ( that's what brought me to yoga) fibromyalgia, connective tissue tendonitis, and mild ankylosing spondylitis. I have been following various yin yoga videos on KZread, they are good but do not really give way to being able to adjust you poses depending on your flexibility, or really explaining how to place your hips ( upward tilt) in down dog. This video and all the ones I have seen so far from you, really explain the positions well.

Thanks Livin, I’m revisiting my pigeon, after I asked my instructor for a frank and honest discussion on my weaknesses and she directed me to hipflexors and glutes. I have a torn meniscus (which yoga has helped via knee strength) so I concentrate a lot on protecting the knee and do not spend enough time holding my torso up. The knee past the hand is a good tip, and although I’m not fond of furniture in yoga, I’ll try a bolster under my leading thigh and work down through a block, blanket and without over time as I correct my form. It would be great if sometimes you can find a less athletic/flexible person to demonstrate with, so we can think “oh…that’s me getting into this pose…THATS what I look like!!” 😄

Please do more of those tutorials on poses, these is SO needed! Recently I tried side crow for the first time and I laugh at myself, thinking that isn't going to happen in a foreseeable future. Then I found your video and after a few tries of very conscious recollection of your instructions I've managed to get into a side crow for a second. Maybe standing split next? or camel pose? or maybe scorpion dog. Pretty please :)

I am a huge fan of your videos, they have changed everything I thought I knew about my body and my flexibility / mobility. I am starting with pigeon pose to increase flexibility as I move towards being able to do the splits. With this goal in mind, how long should I be holding in pigeon pose? How often each week should I be doing pigeon? Any advice you have on this would be so helpful!

I had/ have really tight hip flexors and a couple sports injuries from years back.I started my pigeon stretch on stairs with back foot on the bottom step and knee and shin on the 4th step. I can still stretch forward laying my torso onthe stairs and stretch my back foot by anchoring my toes onthe bottom step edge

A question I’ve always had about yoga is Have you always been flexible and that got you into yoga instruction or did you become flexible by doing yoga. I have known people who were always flexible and actually spent money to learn something they were already capable of doing. This to me is the red flag of yoga. Stretching can improve one’s flexibility and I’ll do that but I’ll never call it yoga.
