How do you shoot boring normal things? Just walking around your neighborhood and see something like a garden hose or whatever, remember things like composition and lighting and you might be surprised what you can get from your shot.

Totally agree mate. I always have to keep in mind also that mundane to you is someone else's brand new and different. I have to make a point of taking everyday photos, because my everyday is way different to everyone else's everyday. My local area is different to so many other peoples! Great video mate!

For anyone searching for inspiration on how to take this to the ultimate level, look at William Eggleston's work. »The Democratic Forest« - the full edition has 1328 pages and costs 650€.

@@film_friends Oh yeah! Don't know if I can share links here but Alec Soth once did a little critique of, I believe, the older, cut down version. It's absolutely worth it, makes you think differently: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fZ5qx8ihYdC5eJc.html

I haven't yet watched the video, but the premise sounds very interesting. My city is, even in my country as a whole, known as "the definition of mediocrity". Everything here is just "meh". Architecture, sights, people and what they wear, absolutely everything is average. The little parts that aren't you cannot photograph in (as in "not allowed", which must be respected).
