    Great video! On a side note: with a large room like that, you're definitely going to want something like 3 or 4 inch pyramid or wedge acoustic foam. It will help diffuse much better than those 1 inch pyramid foam tiles, which are really intended for smaller spaces.

    Push press is a great plateau buster. If your max strict form press has been the same for a while, put an extra 20lbs on the bar and do some push presses. After a few weeks of consistent push pressing you'll find you can do that extra 20lbs even with strict form. Rinse repeat.

  • @michaelbuick6995

    @michaelbuick6995

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Mks25932 I disagree I find the hardest part of the strict press is between your chin and your eye level. The first and last 6 inches are easy it's that bit in the middle about face height that's the hard part. That's no man's land where your back is doing less of the work but your triceps aren't in an optimal position to take over. I find heavy push press helps me break into new highs, and then I can back fill that with strict reps after a couple of months. I'm up to a few reps at 100kg with strict form, and that's with these really long Tarzan arms, so I'm doing something right.

    Hi, is that book on Amazon ? I always enjoy your vids, what I was looking at today was to try and fix a problem with my push press. I have pretty much mastered the form on doing military press but before i had really looked into it I was doing push press. Trouble was i really whacked myself in the chin with it, I know this sounds almost comical, but with the weight i was pushing it could have been serious. This experience kind of made me avoid it, until today. I. I am starting a "Body Pump" class at the local gym, which does a lot of pushes presses with lighter weights, and I don't want to repeatedly whack myself under the chin. 2. From your above video I gather that it help increase your press weight and as it happens I have reached a plateau with that. Any to tips dude to stop me killing myself ?? :)

    Just how crucial is it to keep your wrists bent back that far? I have some wrist issues and have to have my wrists a little more straight than the typical wrist angle. I keep my elbows slightly forward but not too far like for an front squat. Does this adjustment in my wrists make me work different muscles?

    it supposed to be a carry over exercise for the military press, if you follow a programm for example. So you have a few sessions that are using this push press to brake through barriers you have with the strict military press, and the following week you would improve on the military press. rince and repeat.

    I've watched half a dozen push press videos and technique is different from everyone! Strength Camp has his elbows further forward in more of a front rack position, Scott Herman doesn't have his forearms vertical and Athlean-X has terrible form but he's topless and sounds scientific so people listen. You seem to have the bar too far back in the hand so your forearm drive is creating a lot of pressure on the wrists. My search for a decent tutorial vid continues..
