    Nice one Collins! I usually do all my masking in Photoshop, but anything that can help before sending it to Photoshop is a real plus. Very helpful tutorial.

    Colin could you explained the difference between “invert” and “duplicate and invert”? This is a very helpful tutorial. Thank you!

  • @davidf6326

    @davidf6326

    2 жыл бұрын

    Invert simply swaps the masked and unmasked areas - you still have only one mask. Duplicate and invert creates a new mask which is the inverse of the first, such that you end up with two masks. As a simple example of a use case, say you wanted to sharpen and increase contrast on your subject and maybe reduce noise and slightly desaturate the background. First create a subject mask and apply the sharpening and contrast increase, then use duplicate and invert to create the second mask. Select the newly created mask - which will include everything but the subject - and apply the noise reduction and desaturation.
