Tried this live. Worked on everyone. First attempt I was choked just like you said. Lifted my head a bit. Worked amazingly well.

i love this its super simple. i do a simular thing but its just a high/low pass from top butterfly, but it uses the same principles you teach here

Interesting video. I do a variation of this with one hand posting on their armpit/shoulder and other on the knee and do a sprawl type motion with my legs to pass. It’s probably a bit too explosion based and doesn’t have the lower risk control aspects like how you showed. Anyhow great vid and I’ll try to work this in my game

Yes, I know exactly what you're saying. And they way you are explaining it is a more common way of being taught. It's not wrong just different and having options is always good.

Timing -- out of all the combat sports, BJJ talks about timing the least. I enjoy you integrating that word in with your setups. Every, other combat sport I've participated in always talk about it for any setup. I also like the, "At my age" line. ;0)

My body has some serious miles on it lol! I don't care how slow your game is without timing you have nothing!

Timing was the right word! I am IJF black belt in judo and blue belt in Renzo Gracie here in Greece. The other " brow belt" guy is a catch🤣🤣🤣 I like you both. Your channel must be in IJF official🤙🤙🤙

I was not aware the IJF handed out ranks. I'm going to have to look into that to see if I can get an IJF Black Belt.

@@TravisStevensgrappling You should communicate with your national judo federation and you will pay a voucher in IJF in order your rank(dan/dans) coming from IJF. In other words, I have a paper wtith my 2o dan from HellenicJF, an other from EuropeJF and an other from International JF. Waste off money!😂😂😂😂 But I am nobody! And I must prove that Iam "officiall". You are famous as Iliadis you do not need prove anything to noone...you are olympic champion👍👍👍🤙🇬🇷

Interesting. Question. what prevents him from scooting back and setting up a loop choke? Speed and timing, maybe?

What if they place there foot in your hip in butterfly guard and focus on 2 v 1 arm drags?

I can most everyone with this pass, except for my coach. If I even start to put my first hand on his hip, he over hooks it and Mir Lock's me. Every single time.
