Great video! The format is straight and to the point, i wish all how to videos were this good. Thanks for posting.
A trick to make parge look Professional is using a sponge. Trowel it on domt have to be perfect just get the thickness close. Let it cure a bit and use a wet sponge going in circles with very little pressure to take out any imperfections.

Can I parge a split face CMU to make it smooth?
I have first coat of parge, I used Type S mortar mix, can this go over that ?
Thank you for this great video. I have a question. It is written on the bag structure that "Mix and substrate temperatures should be maintained between 5 C and 30 C for at least 24 hours prior to and 48 hours after". I want to fix my house foundation wall by using first hydraulic cement for filling cracks and then covering with Sakrete parging mix and painting it at the end of process. The place that I am located is cold and sometimes temperature is minus these days and it is mandatory for me to fix my house foundation before winter time! Can I use it without any problem?

I believe you can find other options with can be applied under other conditions. Go to the Sackrette web site or your hardware store for more options. I was surprised by the many options and cement solutions.

Did you do it? You don't want the water in the concrete mix to freeze before it cures. What happens is the water freezes and expands, and separates from the cement in the mix. Then it thaws eventually leaving voids. On a wall or floor, it will lead to never ending cracks. For a thin topcoat, and I'm purely speculating, but I imagine it would not adhere properly and chip off. My explanation may not be spot on accurate as I"m not a concrete professional, but it's close. I was doing plumbing work in a basement of a very new house, with lots of cracks in the walls. The owner was going round and round with the builder, and about to get a structural engineer involved. The foundation was poured a day or two before a really cold snap and temps going down to below freezing.

did you do it? how did it go? technically hydraulic cement is meant for plugging holes and not for skimcoating so I am curious how it went for you.
What temperature does it have to be to apply this?
Is wire needed under the concrete spread ?
Is it possible to add colour to this mix?
Do you require a bonding agent >

Can you use this over stone and already parged walls that are cracked and uneven?

Cracked and flaking parging needs to be fully removed before fresh application as far as I know.
Can parging be done over painted walls or does paint need to be removed before application?

What is the difference between “parging” and a stucco product? Are they the same or similar?

All I could find is that stucco is more oriented towards a particular finish, parging is "good enough from the curb" kinda finish.
It's funny how these companies can't find some old granny that needs this done, they just build a nothing wall all day 😆

what if you can only access one side of the cinder block wall? i have a cinderblock wall butted up to a hillside.

Then only put parging on one side! Obviously, if you want to parge the side of the wall that's against the hillside, you'll have to dig that out. How was that not obvious? Did you vote for The Rump?

JL - because of concern of moisture pushing thru from other side. My question wasn’t clear so I’ll give you that. Your type of response makes it pretty clear the type of person you are. Have a nice day.

Desiree Stinson you can still parge the one side, it’ll be porous all the way through, what you don’t want to do is put a roll on sealer or paint because that will eventually peak off.

That wall is not 3' tall. It's 3 courses at 8" each which is 2'.

Sakrete Surface Bonding Cement is what I used. It worked great. The Grey Bag. Its dries Grey too. The big box stores carry it. Quickrete has a similiar product called Quickwall. @@macpharlan6738
would this work on a seawall that will eventually be underwater?
How can I get this video spoken or subtitled in Spanish?

Is this product available in the US? Everything I see appears to be north of civilization
Wow thank goodness you had 4 separate Tupperware containers for a visual
Ну она оказалась права. Бездарность вылез на сцену 😂 и помоготь не пришлось.
Cover in plastic for 3 days? You can't say this with a straight face and expect everyone parging a house foundation to wrap up each house for 3 days haha?
I should have said they don't sell it in the U.S.
