White and red is absolutely stunning, great work. Heresy vibes!
This might sound weird, but I love the relaxed nature of your videos. Gives me the same vibes as watching Bob Ross does, in a sense. Which might just be the biggest praise I can give, come to think of it.

That black, white and red looks so amazing!
This was awesome. Those blood effect ideas are fantastic!
They both look awesome but the white one really speaks to me.excellent tutorial.thanks for sharing.
Love the deeper dive into specifics
That late heresy look is perfect! That’s how I want an army to look.
beautiful in it's simplicity... thanx.
Id love to see you guys do more chaos man
Great video again guys!
Awesome tutorial Henry!
Clever on the dried blood, excellent vid
As an avid Khorne lover and player I LOVE your work on this model. Definitely going to give the blood step a go.
Another great video!
Love your videos!
Bravo Henry, Bravo
amazing work
Thank you so much for your upcoming oil mixing video 😄
7:55 Sombre Grey, my favorite grey! It has a lovely violet undertone.
Never built Khorne before so I'm watching a few videos and swiping from here and there. Should be good fun.
Definitely coming back to this video when Berzerkers get a Kill Team, for the legion, for Angron, for Khorne!
Absolutely gorgeous. I personally am quite taken with the white/red

Great tutorial, these are some of your best. The red is especially cool. On a funny side though, there is something about what you say at 15:50 that makes my Google home speaker tell me the time. I replayed it 4 times and it keeps happening 😂
Thank you for this excellent video. I am looking for a perfect painting for this army and find it just great. Well I still can not decide which one I like better, because just both are really good.

Just tried my first Berserker following your video. I'm brand new to airbrushing and quickly realised how much practice you have put in to make it look so easy haha although saying that, I don't hate my results! Looking forward to painting the rest and hopefully improving as I go.

Great to hear, keep going, you'll be surprised how quickly you can get to a stage where you can dooms of what you want with the airbrush.
this looks so amazing but it also looks like something that is only a fast method after years of exp!
this was the greatest warhammer painting video i've seen, and gets me so excited to get back into painting when i have the time - world eaters and khorne were my shit when was i was younger
I think that brass recipe would work really well for grimdark Minotaurs
I need to try Tamiya flat white through the airbrush! Ordered some, can't wait to give it a go...

How do you put Tamiya paint in airbrush ? Difficulties for precision
@Treeslayer82
6 ай бұрын
@Mamagus51 you have to thin them using X20a tamiya thinners not water or normal airbrush thinners. With the white you can thin to 5 drops thinner to 1 drop paint

We’ve done a few warcry and underworlds warbands over on our Patreon.
I have an issue recently with the oil washes: very thin oil wash tends to flow down in to the base of the model from the crevices, especially from the top of the model (I am using 1 coat of gloss varnish). Have you encountered this and how to prevent it? I have noticed that if I use a thicker mixture, this does not happen.
I know this is a video from a while ago but I’ve been using it for my berserkers! I have to know case I can’t find it anywhere, what did you use for the skin? I can never get skin right
I have a question, If you were to base the first berzerker in Khorne red before you did the white highlights, would the effect be the same? Or is it helpful to do it afterward to correct for any misplaced highlights.
The new berserkers make me so happy. No longer will my Black Legion include a bunch of angry midgets! Seeing the Heresy era scheme in 40k is always such a fun thing. Really connects the two eras. These blood effects are super cool looking. Definitely taking some notes there.

How do you matte varnish your red without it going weird. For me red always looks funny when I matte it. Every other colour is fine
I'm looking forward to de-khorne-ifying these guys to fit them into my loyalist world eaters army for 30k
Hello, thanks for video its great. Question : what thinner do you use with Games Workshop citadel paints for airbrush ? Thanks
@cultofpaint

Thanks. I use lifecolour or vallejo thinner with mine.
I love you've done the white scheme, I was struggling on how to approach this! Thank you so much! Do you need to do gloss varnish before the oil pin wash? I have an enamel pinwash that stains (and ruins) white acrylic and needs gloss. Does oil need it? Also, do you then varnish matte or satin after pinwashing?
@cultofpaint

I glossed before and then ultramatte afterwards on these
Hey Henry, love it I'm hoping to do my own World Eaters in the mid heresy red and white scheme, so interesting to see your perspective on it thanks. I like the desaturated leather on the model as well, have you covered this in a previous video, or can you remember roughly what you used? Cheers

@@cultofpaint thanks, there's so many cool ideas in these videos and another leather recipe is always good in the bag. I have to say also, that hearing you and Andy articulate your thoughts in recent videos (here and Patreon) during the process around things that maybe didn't go so well has been so helpful. Especially when me personally, I'm in a bit of a painting procrastination lull trying to work out what is better for my current project and it would be better to get some paint on and make a mistake than mull over ideas too long. That's not to say there isn't a place for planning, but probably not quite as much as I'm doing right now. Thanks both of you 👍

When working with oil paints like this, do you need special ventilation or is an open window enough? Same question for airbrushing.
@cultofpaint
Жыл бұрын
A window open for oils is fine I find. For airbrushing I always recommend at minimum an appropriate respirator, and then as much ventilation as you can get.
Really love the outcome and look Henry! Fantastic work. I've recently bought an airbrush and this is truly inspirational for a newcomer. Do you ever do more out of edge highlighting your minis ala GW 'Eavy Metal style to complement the airbrushing?

Hi I have a question about the pin wash step. I am using Abtielung 502 Bitume thinned with mineral spirits and its leaving a whiteish/grey filter in the recesses instead of a the dark brown color of the Bitume. Have you experienced this before if so how do you mitigate this?
@cultofpaint
Жыл бұрын
Hi Ethan, I’ve not experienced this before. Perhaps the oil wasn’t mixed thoroughly? Did you speed up the drying process in any way?

It just takes a while to do. You could not do it and either use a heavier wash or black lining instead
Hey Henry, thanks for another great video. Quick question, do you do anything different to the blood recipe to make it stand out more on the red armor? Or is it the same as the white? Thanks
@cultofpaint
Жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, no I just did the same thing and accepted it wouldn’t look quite as good as it does on the white. I suppose you could do more of the darker brown old blood effect.
I know I am super late this so not sure this will get seen. I finally have all the paints gathered for the white scheme. My only question is when you varnished everything? It looks like everything but the metallics got a matte varnish? So was it all varnished before metallics and then no final varnish after metallics were done? Or were the metallics rejuvenated with their nightlight?
@cultofpaint
9 ай бұрын
varnished after decals and thats it. So no the metallics didnt get a coat.
Love the White and Red scheme! Something that I would suggest you try for convincing chainblade blood spray and gore is to put thinned down "Blood for the Blood God" through and airbrush in very thin light layers.
