Ойын-сауық

Have you ever wondered if you can hand paint your weather worn window or sliding door screen mesh? With favorable results, here's a thorough tutorial on how I hand painted mine and the 6 mistakes you want to avoid. I cover screen removal, prep work, special tools, the type of paint used, paint brushes, and how to reinstall the screen.
Besides the obvious, (Why would you paint them when it's easier, faster and better to replace them with new mesh? Here's my DIY video on how to: Video link • How to REMOVE and REPL... ). I know I'm not the only person who has considered doing this BUT there are 6 MISTAKES you want TO AVOID.
1. Don't paint your screen while it is still on your window, remove it first.
2. Don't paint overly damaged screens, replace them with new mesh.
3. Don't paint dirty screen mesh, wash and clean first.
4. Don't paint in direct sunlight, find a shady spot to do your work.
5. Don't use too much paint at once, apply lightly or it will clump the mesh.
6. Don't immediately reinstall the screens after painting, let them dry first.
*PAINT USED*: BEHR Ultra, Exterior Semi-Gloss Enamel, Paint and Primer

I'm gonna attempt to paint a big smiley face on a retractable screen to avoid any walk-ins. The screen is very transparent. Also, thanks for making this video. A big thumbs up.

Could you needle stitch small strips of colored yarn throughout the mesh to add some contrast? Your comment also made me think of a smiley face down low towards pet level...lol. Good luck and thanks for stopping by :)

Thank you for your time and efforts in making this informative video. Am currently replacing my fiberglass mesh with charcoal stainless mesh and was wondering if they lost their shinny luster , could they be repainted. Thanks again for the details in this video.

Hi Debbie. Replacing is definitely faster and easier to do BUT whatever you decide to do later on, make sure you understand the prep work involved and select the appropriate paint that will stick to your specific mesh material. Thanks for stopping by, cheers.
