How to Paint Skin Tutorial

Ойын-сауық

In this tutorial I show you how to paint skin digitally and I also give some tips on using color and basic anatomy. Painting skin is something we all had difficulties with at one point but with the right technique it doesn't have to be. By knowing some basic color theory you can easily paint good looking skin that pops and looks believable.
I hope you'll find this tutorial helpful! :)

    Have a tip for you: duplicate the layer, and erase the part you want on one layer, and erase the other part on the other layer. You will have one layer with what you want to warp, and one layer with what you want to keep.

    The biggest problem with skin shading tutorials is that they teach you theory but never practice. No one teaches which brush to use, what's the opacity setting, how to avoid layering shadows with multiple strokes etc. I learned theory so many times i can give a shading lesson, but i still cant do it myself.

  • @KaizenKitty

    @KaizenKitty

    3 жыл бұрын

    to be fair this depends on the medium you're using. depends on the software (what brushes you have, what blending tools you have). as for the multiple strokes thing, one way i avoid this (in Medibang) is to draw with the (watercolor) brush at 100% opacity, and then to reduce the layer opacity until it 'looks good'.

    This was such a great skin tutorial! I've watched a lot of them, and this is one of the best. You are very good at explaining the steps without being too vague or too detailed about them. Thank you so much and I hope you will do a lot more of these kinds of tutorials in the future! :)

    I just started digital painting today because today I got my first drawing tablet. Obviously I've watched a lot of videos over the past hours. You're the first one with a totally different approach, an approach that's way easier to pick up for beginners. At least for me. Honestly, your videos, especially this one, were the first that gave me the "yeah, I can do that' feeling. Thank you a thousand times.
