Excellent - I love your technique! When I did my apprenticeship many many years ago, my boss always used to say that at the end of the painting day there ought not to be any paint on the bristles where they enter the ferrule and certainly none covering the ferrule. If there was, it was a sure sign that we were dipping the paint too far into the can and overloading the brush., Or it meant we were using a sub-standard method of brushing out the paint - running it on its side. Doing it the right way, like Spencer does, will give a far better result and make the brushes a heck of a lot easier to clean, believe me!

As a 30 year painter, you never paint out of a full bucket, and never rub your brush on the edge, tap your brush on the inside of your work bucket

On behalf of the spiders for justice movement I would just like to say we are both shocked and dismayed at the brutal treatment of our 8 legged brother in this video. R.I.P. Rest in paint.

You should pour some paint into a paint pail or kettle instead of using directly from the tin so eliminating the risk of picking up any base tint from the inside of the tin ,also the brush should be tapped quickly a couple of times on the inside of the kettle instead of scraping off on the rim of the tin. And taking a full tin up a ladder or step ladder is a big no , no .
