Yes, although technically inadequate, it was fun to just do. I notice people easily copy other artists but are hesitant about trying the really famous ones. Albert

The group is (or was, I stopped teaching) half experienced, half new to painting. Often, you can't tell who is from which group after a few lessons. I love to see people freely paint, just because they enjoy doing. I sail by the principle,'What could happen if you would forget you can't paint?' Just follow along and look what happens on your paper in front of you. And please stop chatting to your neighbor for a second and dive into the process. Often, magic happens.

I have commented on a few of your videos and watched even more of them. What paper do you use and do you gesso it first? I would love to see a "tour" around your studio (room) and your supplies. I think you might be like many of us, you adapt a room in your home for your artwork.

  • @ImperfectPaintings

Hi James, a tour would be embarrassing, it's a mess 😁 or let's say I work on a number of projects at the same time. But seriously I won't do a tour because it's not important. I show in every video what I use and what I do. I understand you could be curious but it's KZread and people show perfect places, what in reality for most people is not the case. My channel is not about the gear but about the idea. Creativity is more important than the brand of the paint I use or the price of my brush (around €2 a piece) I just use the paper unless I tell what I do first like a layer of (mixing) white. No gesso. I like to work cheap. I got used to it when my finances where limited because of our kids growing up and my wife and I work part time. The paper is allround drawing paper that can be used for various materials like oil pastels, pencils and acrylics (don't mix with water). Good you asked your questions, but the answer is perhaps a bit disappointing. Have a good day anyway, Albert
