Oh my god, this is PERFECT!!! My younger sister has been watching your channel for a few weeks and today she said that she wanted to be a painter. I told her I'd show her how to use Krita, which has been my drawing software since around July of last year. I asked her why she wanted to start painting and she said because she watched this channel. I decided "hmm, maybe i should practice painting today", and I've been going at it for a few hours now. I haven't liked the results so I started looking around for speedpaints to see how they do it and I started looking here. Then I saw that you had a painting tutorial yourself, and it's for KRITA of all things! Thank you so much for this, your art is beautiful and for you to share your workflow is just so nice. well reason ppl don't like Krita is (for newbies, for pros idk) hard to find good tutorials, thanks to you or David Revoy im diggin into this soft. For ex. i want to setup my pencil like real one- presure thicker line, angle - wider line(working in cohesion). Spent like 3h on tutorials - and no answer. Then study all dependence betwean option in brush engine for another 3h, so i spent like 6h just for 1setup before even drawing. High level of entry for me...

Just spent an entire day playing with Fire Alpaca (like 12+ hrs), and I have to say. I don't think I like it, which is sad since I know so many people seemed to love it. I think the only thing going for it for me is for lining, but even then it frustrated me quite a bit (I use a lot of hatching in my art). I think I'll be switching back to my trusty Gimp 2.6 lol. I might use FireAlpaca just for the cleaner linearts, but everything else probably not.

Krita was my first art program, and honestly, it was extremely frustrating. But now that I've gotten used to it, I really love it and use it to draw my boys :') (and by 'my boys' I mean BTS members ehehehe oops)

Thanks alot for this video it helps alot. There doesn't seem to be that many beginner tutorials for krita but this is perfect. I've always been interested in drawing but Ive never been very good at it but i really want to learn digital painting for making concept art. This is a great place to start if I know how to actually use my program of choice then it helps me to focus on learning how to draw rather than how to draw in this program. So thanks again.

Phandom Is A Potato's Life She has Krita on the computer and the tablet Jenna's talked about is a drawing tablet . On a drawing tablet you get a pen-like thing which you use . I'm awful at explaining so just Google 'drawing tablet' it will probably come up with something.

I have advice for this! Pick out the features that will make this character distinct (maybe their eyes are more slanted than average or they have this unique hairstyle) Then practice drawing the character. Make a reference sheet of what they look like at different angles and with different expressions. Draw them over and over. It can get tedious, but trust me, it's worth it.

  • @BigStrath

    5 жыл бұрын

@@theminiatureromantic I only have experience in Photoshop but it has the same layer options. Multiply takes information that is already on your canvas and multiplies the value so it is good for shaddows as you keep the underlying drawing. The overlay layer is good for highlights. I find it's difficult to get an exact color using these modes so I tend to manually paint in my shaddows but this method is pretty common and gets you good results. Check out Aaron blaise's channel. He is an animator and artist and he uses multiply and overlay in his drawings.

@@atlantisexo1738 As far as I know, canvas size mainly affects shape (aspect ratio) and quality. If you want to keep file size down, you can choose a lower canvas size, but try to make sure that your image is no less than the size and aspect ratio in which you intend for it to be viewed. Ex. Instagram (1:1): 1080 x 1080 - 2160 x 2160.
