    Last question (for a while, honest!) I've primed him black, so how do you do the white prime? How far from the model? And at what angle (roughly)? Some tutorials recommend about 40cms from the model at a 30-40° angle. Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Diolch yn fawr! 😃

  • @ThePaintingCoach

    @ThePaintingCoach

    No worries ask as much as you want - i did it drom directly over head- same as the black prime for distance - maybe a little closer - and blow the white can away from the mini first to get rid of any dust

    I am trying to get into the hobby, and I have a question, is there a reason why you don't paint the parts first and then just glue them together?

  • @ThePaintingCoach

    @ThePaintingCoach

    4 жыл бұрын

    It's an option - i prefer to build most of the model so I get a feel for how everything looks - and don't spend too long on bits that may not get seen once it's built. I also find it easier to remove mould lines then build rather than try and remove them on the sprue And by building first you het better adhesion of parts. In a nutshell I find it a lot faster - as you watch my vids, you'll see I do leave some parts separate to make it easier to reach certain places - I hope that helps!

    @@ThePaintingCoach tidy! 😃 On the model, do you find that the white over black works best? Did you do it in a zenithal sort of way? Would a pure white undercoat work just as well? Just curious about the process and what you think the advantages of your approach is (as the results are really impressive). Anyway, great to see a fellow Taf on here, doing such brilliant work. Diolch yn fawr.

  • @ThePaintingCoach

    @ThePaintingCoach

    4 жыл бұрын

    Diolch Barry that means a lot! I went for the zenithal as i wanted to keep the armour dark and the cloak light, just to speed up how long it would take me to get base layers down You can go all white prime, it may just take a couple of extra coats of purple to get the armour solid - nothing major. The othet benefit is the inside of the cloak is mostly covered in black, so there's no need for me to try and wedge a brush between his legs haha
