Looks good. I would just spend the extra 5 minutes to remove the calipers, remove the rotor and brake pads, put the capers back on loosely, then paint.

This is the most proper way of spraying the caliper, shows all the details of masking step. thanks for the video

Looking good - C5 owner from California.

I've been wanting to paint mine for roughly 2 years. I have been waiting until i need new pads and rotors, which i've needed badly for a year lol. I finally got the ambition to paint them and do the brakes.

I have a burgundy 2001 c5 convertible with yellow calipers. Chrome 5 star wheels. It looks amazing. Great choice on the color bro.

I did the same razor blade trick when I painted my calipers blue. The yellow looks awesome!!!

after paint is dry use 100 grit paper on a small piece of wood to lightly sand corvette letters

Yes, it provides an even paint finish than brushing.

Quick tip. If you want to keep your “Corvette” ( or any lettering) a different color, spray that first. Allow it to fully dry. Then Spray your main color on. Before the main color dries all the way, take a rag with enamel reducer or thinner on a small area, like finger tip size, and scrub off the main color revealing the lettered color. Then spray your clear over the top of it all.

How many spray can you use for 4 caliper ?

What did your Dad say about all the over spray that was left on the driveway?

1 hour to dry to touch and id wait atleast 3 hours to drive on them so 1 hour to put wheel back on and 3 hours till you can drive

Its been 2 yrs since you post this videos how is the paint on your calipers right now??

hmm...no primer on the bare metal?

Video was a year ago, so how did this technique hold up ??? Using the VHT paint. Or you sold the car and don't know.

Black or silver paint right over the yellow paint for the Corvette wording would have been easier. Qtip for painting

Also the quickest and easiest way all of that will deteriorate and come off. If you the "do it right, do it once" kind of person, take your calipers off and take them to be powder coated. There are certain rules in every industry and they are there for a reason. Brake calipers and rims > powder coat NOT spray paint.

Clear is a must! I found the VHT brake paint chipped very easy!

I would prefer powder coating cuz it would last much longer. To save money, you can build your own heating oven instead of sending it to the professionals.

@@h2rfl105 No, you can just unbolt them and move them around, just hang them in the wheel arch, much easier to spray properly.

Well, tbh... i'd rather get knowledge how to take calipers off (WAY less time needed) xD Anyway... nice.. uhm.. protection.

The VHT brake paint is good paint but I was surprised how easily it chipped. Like he said you need to clear coat it!

Would have been better to take the caliper off... but looks great non the less

Or you just don't want to lol I've done mine and just left them on didn't want to bother with having to hang the lines up or bleed my lines so its worth it in that aspect

Pro tip: Don’t attempt this IF you can not successfully removed from brake disc.

Gloves and mask? that's not extra protection, everyone I see at the store is wearing that.

Pretty good job, but why do such a meticulous job of masking for overspray and then overspray your driveway. Put a drop down on the driveway. After 35 years of professional painting, believe me overspray and tracking wet paint is a no no. Don't do it.

How in the world did you get the yellow spray paint spot on your driveway!! Next time place a cardboard underneath so your parents wont complain 😆

Dude, you need new rotors, they are rusty AF and old! If you're going to show people tutorials, show them the right way. What's the point in making the calipers pretty if you aren't properly maintaining your vehicle. Plus, teaching people that over spray is ok is wack.
