Tony Pollard, Ribeye, so so good! LOL. This video has so many excellent tips! I've intuitively done some of these things and haven't even thought about it -- thank you for helping articulate those so well! So awesome!! I especially LOVED the part about voice leading, too. I was very fortunate to study music composition, theory, and voice-leading rules for choral parts and instrumental ensembles. Those principles guide TONS of how I voice pads and play piano. I think the way you described it was super intuitive and more accessible than all the textbooks I had to read! Well done! This is another outstandingly helpful video. Thank you a ton! I've sent this along to our keys players and know it will help them a TON!

Hey bro congrats on the new studio! As always love the tutorials and your playing! I primarily use Omnisphere for pads but I don’t want so much of the sheen. I’ve been just closing the filter a bit for some sounds. I like the first sound you started with. Really warm and no sheen. Those fit well under a piano. If you have any advice or presets that would give me that on Omni, please share! Peace and Blessings

I feel like church in US is more of a 'full body' experience than in Sweden. Here you go sit in the bench and silently pray, listen to some words by the pastor.. maybe an organist will play some old psalm.. but not much more... ofc in some church it can be more of the fun stuff with live music and all.😊

Loved this video and your other on the deep breakdown! What "edition" of Nexus are you using? Looks like they have three levels: Starter, Value 10 and Complete. Have never really found a great pad other than a few from Backstage Pass by Jim Daniker and really love some of these sounds.

Yes sir, ....the one chord, 10 seconds, .....the four chord, 10 seconds,...... rinse and repeat..... It really kills me to do... But thank God for the effects, light bells, and other sneaky passing tones.😢

Hey Sam, Great video! What are you using to layer on the piano roll and score view on this video? Do you have a video that you talk more about this setup? Wondering also if you are layering these in live as your record or doing it in post? Appreciate all you do to help the community of church musicians.

Would you be willing to make your MainStage 3 template available for purchase at some point? I plan to purchase nexus 4 and the olufar Arnold’s patches you use for my own setup. That would be very helpful as I am still pretty new to software synth setup. Thank you for all that you do!

Can you do a CCM keys flow video? I’d love to know your tips on that for transitions between songs and ending. At our church we just have a pad going in the background of the 1 chord. Then the keys noodles around quietly/simply for the end of sermon prayer.

I'm sure you could. Half of why it sounds so good is Valhalla Vintage Verb and Shimmer

I'll occasionally get piano in there towards the end when we're about to transition to a song. More times than not it's about 90% pad, add piano in towards the very end.
