How to Overcome Gout Naturally | Dr. Josh Axe

Natural Remedies for Gout: bit.ly/2MENFiA
In this video, I’m going to share my top 6 home remedies for gout. Gout is caused by uric acid build up in the body.
First, I want to go over the best diet to consume when treating gout. You want to eliminate all grains, sugars, alcohol and processed meat products from your diet. In addition, I would recommend consuming a lot of vegetables, fruits, bone broth and organic meats.
My top 6 home remedies to get rid of gout naturally include:
1. Celery Seed Extract or Celery Juice
2. Black Cherry Juice or Extract
3. Nettles Tea (drink or supplement)
4. Fish Oil
5. Proteolytic Enzymes
6. Magnesium supplement

As a 30 year gout sufferer (71 YO), I found the following: Gout can be in any joint of the body - however most prevalent in the big toe. I had one attack in neck, many others in various joints. MD treatment and pharma meds on a daily basis did not stop my gout attacks. Gave up this strategy after about 3 years. Avoiding high purine foods and alcohol did not stop my attacks. Exercise and natural remedies helped more than any of the above. My daily cocktail was and still is: Dark cherry juice, turmeric, ACV, celery seed, fresh lemon juice w/pulp, cinnamon, black pepper. Even with the above cocktail the attacks become more frequent with age. Keto diet stopped all pain and swelling in 10 days. After that I switched from Keto to High Fat/Low Carb diet. Now, after 4 months, gout and related symptoms are still gone. I eat many foods that are on the DO NOT EAT if you have gout lists. Asparagus, mushrooms, pork, bacon, red meats, etc. Still drink some beer but in lesser amounts and it's low carb. Weight has decreased by 13 lbs. (now at ideal weight for my height) Blood pressure has decreased from ~150/78 to 120/71. Sleep is much better..... SUGAR is the ENEMY.

Amazing info. This morning I was literally in the parking lot of urgent care when I saw this video. I didn't go in, went to the grocery and got black cherry juice and celery. I put it in a blender together and drank it. Drank water throughout the day and then another Celery and black cherry juice concoction and at a little over 13 hours the swelling is almost gone. No ibuprofen at all. I know tomorrow morning I'll be ready to roll. Thank you!

The pain of gout is like no other, & unless one has suffered from the arthritis, he/she will never understand the pain it causes. Really crucial..

July 2018 --- Dr. Axe is right-on. I'm sorry it doesn't work for everyone because Gout is a very painful thing. My right foot and big toe were killing me.. I bought 3 large bottles of Black Cherry juice. (not concentrate but the pure unsweetened stuff at $6.00 per bottle) & 2 heads of celery and 36 hours later I'm felling 90% better. That's because I drank & ate it all in 24 hours. It saved me, not sure it works for everyone but it did for me. I have no reason to lie. Good luck.

Add 1/3 teaspoon of baking soda to 2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar and wait for the fizzing to stop, then add it to 1 cup/250ml of water and drink every morning. If you eat fresh fruit-vegetables-seeds-salads-nuts along with water every day your health will improve greatly. I have stopped buying and eating anything that comes in packages, I eat chicken/meat or fish with a salad for dinner every night and along with lemon in water for taste my health is amazing. People say I look like I'm in my late 20's but I'm 45yrs old. Ever since I nice I started eating this way my senses have improved dramatically.

That said, this year, over the past 5 months I've had on and off pain for almost the whole time. The reason why grains cause inflammation in the body is because they are not human foods. Natural human foods do not require any processing just like all the foods of every single animal in this world. Grains like wheat have to be milled into a flour, combined with yeast, and cooked to achieve some form of digestion. Grains are survival foods for humans, not foods that the human organism can Thrive off of. Grains were created for birds and not humans. When in a survival situation, grains can sustain you but consuming grains for a prolonged period of time will inevitably cause dis-ease for everyone and anyone in the long run sine they are not human foods. Fruits, vegetables, nuts and herbs are our natural life-giving foods. Eating cooked foods are processed foods are decaying foods. The only other animal that eats decaying foods are scavengers. By eating dead foods, the human moves from the top to the bottom. If you ever wonder why there is so much death and disease in this world, you will find its source in the foods they eat. ✨Peace ✨Love✨ Harmony✨

I rushed out before th shops shut and bought black cherry, celery seeds and nettle tea and took them at 5.30pm along with ibuprofen. It's now 9pm and whilst the swelling is still there the pain is considerably less. It was close to excruciating at a point - I see why a lot of people go to A&E for x-rays when they have it!

A few thing I've found that help are exercise and water - lots of each. To get rid of gout in 24 hrs. Well anyone with it would know that it comes on slower than it goes away but packing it in ice appears to halt the exothermic reaction. I make up ice packs with a heat sealer machine so the packs are really cold and last for hours. The ice is pretty painful in itself but one just has to yield to that and let it do it's thing.

But diet never fully cured it until I had acupuncture. It took 2 treatments twice a week for 3 weeks. It wasn’t until the 4th treatment I felt any difference so don’t quit too soon. Also, Make sure you go to someone trained by the Chinese and not a chiropractor that took a short course in acupuncture.

There are several ideas for treating gout naturally Thanks for your informative post, here area few more tips for a home remedy for gout... 1) Apple cider vinegar, apple cider vinegar is also used to treat stomach acid and headaches but what a lot of people don’t know is that it can also be used to help treat gout and arthritis. The acidity in apple cider vinegar will help relieve acute pain. 2) Ginger root, The anti-inflammatory properties present in ginger root can be very helpful in relieving pain and inflammation. There are many ways to use ginger root in the treatment of gout. 3) Baking soda, One significant factor contributing to gout is an increase of uric acid in the body. Baking soda can help reduce the amount of uric acid, giving you relief from the pain. 4) Lemon juice, To get relief from gout pain, it is essential to alkalize the body and neutralize the excess uric acid in blood stream. This can be done easily with baking soda and fresh lemon juice Along with lemon juice, also eat other fruits rich in vitamin C to strengthen the body tissues. (I learned these and why they work on Nakedra remedy plan site )

Being a cardiac patient from birth ( 6 open heart surgeries) and going on 43 years this year, this past year I started to develop gout. I rarely drink alcohol (maybe 3 times a year). The only thing I have found to eliminate with in minutes of a flair up is at minimum 2000 units of Vitamin C supplements. On N.I.H. site there is articles supporting this claim to. I have tried everything prior and Id rather have my chest tube ripped out of me with no morphine from a open heart surgery then to deal with gout pain.

I first experienced gout pain in both my big toes but mainly the right about 4 years ago and had a couple of flair ups in a year but didn't know what it was at the time thought I'd banged it or poor fitting shoes. It got a lot worse to the point of 1 attack every month lasting around a week. I also had urinary problems (stingy wee) By the time I got to see my doctor the attacks had subsided so blood tests came up border line for uric acid. Until a specialist confirmed it was gout and could take medication for the rest of my life. I was unprepared to do this and looked a little deeper into alternative ways to eliminate not mask the problem. I have been free of gout now for 3 months and my solution was the following. Apple cider vinegar 2tbs. 1/8tsp of borax. Sour cherry and apple juice 300ml in a litre of distilled water 5 days a week drunk throughout the working day. Supplements also chanca piedra and magnesium citrate. Vitamins d, b12, c, turmeric, glucosamine. Avoid purin foods, fatty foods cut back on alcohol especially wine. Odd beer at the weekend. I'm not saying this would work for others but seems to be doing the trick for me but give it time but the results have been fairly rapid. Chanca piedra flushes the liver and kidneys and breaks up the crystals, think this this has been the key player tbh.

Very useful. I am fit and active but have had gout attacks over the years. Today I uncharacteristically ate a lot of ham for Thanksgiving and that brought back my old gout flame. Josh specifically mentions that the chemicals and the antibiotics can act as triggers. Also he doesn't go about bashing seafood etc but talks about the logic of countering the uric acid buildup with alkanity.

I was unaware of the 2 medications to treat gout. Thanks for the suggestion. This will be my second time and I’ve narrowed it down to ham or Turkey or both. I never eat either though out the year other than thanksgiving. Both attacks have started days after thanksgiving. I don’t care for Turkey but ham I do enjoy but it’s not worth the pain. I’ve eaten steak multiple times per week, fatty foods multiple times, cases of beer, etc. all of the high purine foods and I’ve never had an issue until thanksgiving. I’ll opt for something different or just stick to the sides as my meal. I appreciate your response and I wish you a speedy recovery.

This dogma has persisted through the centuries..."Rich man's disease" "too much this" "excess of that" If you have gout, there is a problem with your body, whereby it doesn't get rid of uric acid like people who don't have gout. Most antibiotics recommended by GP are animal based (contains animal products & also tested on animals) and as a VEGAN, I could not consume them and was suffering from GOUT for over 20 days. Now I eat 1 stem of celery and 1 spoon of turmeric each day to ensure that GOUT does not return back. When my gout was at its peak, after watching your video I had 4 stems of celery and 1 spoon of turmeric and my GOUT was cured in under 12 hours. - I am now helping my mum with arthritis after watching your video (recommending her Omega 3 rich - plant based food and supplements - so THANK YOU heaps and keep up this gr8 work)

I found out the bromelain from capsules (ie. digestive enzymes) is better because eating tons of raw pineapple loads you with sugars that feed gout. I ate about 3 pineapples one gout attack and nothing happened. I think all that sugar counteracted the bromelain's anti-inflamatory work.
