Welcome to ep. 4 of my layoff diaires. I can understand that. To be honest, it’s a lot of information but the stuff is really basic, and you can always customize it to how you want. No need to add pressure to yourself. See what works for you!

    Do only a few of the tips that are actionable and relevant to where you at, the rest will grow with time. Tweaking your linkedin is an ongoing journey as you develop, it's not a one time thing. So just start with the basics, photo, headline, connections and then spend time on the platform to gradually learn from others

I would love to see another video, where you show us some more of what the RECRUITER's view/interface looks like, how it functions, and how they use it. The info you gave us about how the algorithm works, and how recruiters are able to search/filter candidates, is great.

    This is very specific with great recommendations, thank you! I often get people on LI pitching me to do business with them and I don't know them. No indication of any interest in what I do other than them making money for things I'm clearly not interested in. For example, getting a pitch for paid help to get my "first book published" when I have 5 books published. I have 500 plus connections and would like to grow more and be attractive to people coming to me for reasons other than pitching me on their new business ideas which are like spam to me as I don't know their work. Suggestions? You do have wonderful advice and I'm impressed with your style and content.

    This was really helpful information direct to the point, but in my case and i'm guessing many others, who are starting out and lack those work experience/recommendations it feels hard to get noticed. Have acquired qualifications now but after twenty years of being a carer, there is nothing to show for it on paper that can make me even be noticed or taken seriously as opposed to my peers at this stage. How can those like me, or career changers, stahp etc coming back/to the scene get to improve their pages to become noticed and approached by hiring managers or recruiters? It's really tough

    Hey! This was a great video! I wanted to know if recruiters looking for freelancers use the same method. I am looking to attract clients with my profile rather than the average inhouse recruiter. Is the process the same or is there anything that I should add? Thanks!

  • @Sakurambo

    @Sakurambo

    Жыл бұрын

    Oh this is a fantastic question - I actually don't have experience with that so I can't say for sure. I think freelancers are usually hired through different sites like Fiverr or Upwork, or through agencies & connections, so maybe widening your platforms may be a good idea. Otherwise, honestly I think this advice may fall a little flat for you because I focused on the basics: making yourself marketable in general, rather than building a brand and standing out. It's a good place to start, but you I assume should focus on building relationships. Hope it helps!

How would you tell that a company is opening to hiring without them explicitly posting a job offer? Thanks

  • @HowardIchiroLim
    @HowardIchiroLim Жыл бұрын

    I would add changing your status to "open for work", speaking as a recruiter/headhunter for over 20 years. Also if you're hopping jobs every few years you better have a legitimate reason other wise companies will not be interested no matter what school you graduated from or what experience you have. Great video!

    So basically they are looking to steal experienced professionals who have been loyal to a successful company... makes sense aha. I feel like if you only have educational experience and are looking for a job in a field that you have no job experience in than your chances of getting contacted by a recruiter are very low... which is unfortunate because that is when you need them the most ! Ah, the irony of life.
