How to Open PETZL GRIGRI or GRIGRI+ security packaging grommet
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
PETZL uses a one-way security grommet on their GRIGRI packaging. Even if you tear the cardboard off you'll still have to figure out how to the the grommet out. It's pretty easy if you have a hammer and a drift or punch or some other item around 5/16" diameter. You can probably also just push the grommet out with the drift and some arm force, but I've always just hit it a couple times with the hammer and it pops right out. I'll put a couple Amazon links below to the different styles of GriGri belay devices.

I was about to explain what a GriGri is and then I looked at your user name. I assume you know what a GriGri does if you are in aerial rescue. We do a lot of climbing with the kids and I like to have them use the GriGri when belaying each other and me as it's close to fail-safe and easy to operate for them. I carry one with me on multi-pitch and depending on what I'm doing I'll use the GriGri or an Edelrid Megajul. Sometimes it's just easier and faster to transition from lead to belay on multi-pitch with the GriGri for me.

@@WheeliePete Very excellent, keep up the great videos, and wheel safely. The Grigri is another great device for sure, Jim.

I was able to open by just pulling hard on the back. There is a screw-like piece that pops out
