I just found this place and boy oh boy... this very well might be the most unnerving area From has ever created.

Thanks for the guide, looked one up because I refused to believe such an amazing area was so empty and barren but sadly looks like it is minus the remembrance boss, wish they wouldn’t have wasted such a giant area

wish they wouldn't have completely wasted the concept you can't inflict frenzy upon anything but humans, yet there's sheep and rats running around with frenzy, but YOU can't afflict them anywhere anyhow. Melina swore to take you down should you rise as lord of frenzied flame, yet she is nowhere to be seen. there's 2 enemy types in the entire area...fucking 2. i don't count winter lanterns because they are insta-kill gimmicks more than enemies. it just shows how little miyazaki cares about the frenzy flame aspect *of his own story*

Agree with the other DLC areas, this would make sense lore wise to be completely barren except for the sheep and rats that are frenzied

Just lost around a million runes to the winterlanterns 2.0 and iam done. I watch this now and may try again this evening

since you have stake for all these madness guy, u can learn to parry them and kill them(they're touchable once u parry the grab), they permanently die once u kill them and will make navigating the zone much easier

Pro tip, shoot arrows in a direction to lure away the frenzy faces. Shattershard arrows for better results

Good advice! Never thought about this. I realised they investigate sound.

Crepus's Vial+Great Hood+Fire Prelate armor+Spelldrake Talisman+Beast Repellent Torch+Clarifying Horn Charm go hard here.

Black Knife armor set is silent so it definitely helps to sneak around them.

My build sucks compared to others lol. I still use moonveil but I have been using Rakshasa's Great Katana from the dlc and it's helped with a few bosses

Recommend the Assassin's Gambit ash of war to sneak past the enemies. Not necessary but just a little tip.

I was running around hunting those madness creeps lol I thought killing all of them will have Torrent be fine, but nope

One does not simply walk into Midra's Manse

I liked this area’s atmosphere a whole lot but DAMN was there nothing to actually find.

This whole area just sucks because of those watchers. Once they lock on, its over. I've yet to parry them, even though I know its possible. You need so much patience in the one stretch of area.

Ive run (walked) around this whole area and just got to the divided falls grace and literally found nothing on the way. Hope this shows me i missed something lol

i didnt see you pick up the madness cook book. at the falls bonfire, turn to your left and follow the ramp up, youll pass 3 rats and on the edge of the cliff is the cookbook

Others have said you need to parry them when they go to grab you. I havent tried.

I was able to get through the area on my own but still can’t for the life of me figure out how to get up on the bridge you were under around the 8 minute mark. Seems like there’s at least a little to explore up there

Why not anyone use invisibility, in dlc it's even harder enemy to notify

From what I’ve gathered, they are called Winter Lanterns, based on the description of the Winter-Lantern Flies. Also I think people are calling them Lanterns because they are similar to the Lantern enemies in Bloodborne

I'm just gonna say it, the dlc is great with a lot of beautiful/unique areas, but a lot of them feel like cut content or something, super large areas with little to nothing in it. I mean i get what they are trying to do with this area, they are trying to turn it into a horror game and want you to navigate without torrent , but i mean like it's just so boring..like at least put a boss or two in here.... a lot of areas are like this

worst region of the game. you just run around for what it seems like hours, theres really not much to find, so many corners and nooks that lead nowhere ... plus you know, the fact that they forbid torrent makes it clear they do this on purpose

@@4fingaz they forbid torrent because if they didn’t then the entire region being a stealth level would be pointless because you could just run past everything. With all the stealth themed items in the game, here is the best place to use them

I think the point of this area to be like a endless nightmare roaming a dark mysterious forest where no end in site with these creepy looking monsters everywhere that make you go insane.

Idk, they’ve all kind of had stealth aspects especially Sekiro, but Elden Ring toned it down from that.

Highly recommend Boodborne if not played it before. There's few locations like this.

This area was complete BS. I got there and was SO HYPED because more frenzy flame story!! Then I played the area...yikes. You care that little for your own story Miyazaki? What is this area? I get to fight BORING 2 enemy types the entire time I am there, I can't ride Torrent and most of the area is SO EMPTY. There's almost 0 reason to explore this area. And I'm a frenzy flame fanboy - imagine how bad it is if even I tell you to just skip through it. The 3rd enemy type you find is purely gimmick as well and insta kills you if you don't play "by the rules" that were just now introduced. Boss is very nice, I'll admit that. But story wise...I dunno Miyazaki just doesn't care. Where was Melina the entire time? You know, the Girl from the secret ending who swore to "hunt you down" should you become the Lord of Frenzy? Then we get to a frenzy area where Torrent cannot be ridden. And Melina is nowhere to see. Why Miyazaki? Why make this area so god forsaken boring and empty? It had SO MUCH potential. Also I still didn't get the frenzy flame ball as head gear...I'm so *MAD* about how poorly this area was handled.

i think thats the point... why would there be items and other enemies where those eye head things destroy anything thats within their radius. the boringness fits with the story of the area. But i get what u mean
